Had kinda hoped they wouldn’t go full on with a Holy Grail story because it’s a fine line between their world and ours when you’re talking about a story tied to a religion in our world. But I guess it was inevitable once they chose to cast a Percival out of all of the Knights, because I think the only thing he’s really known for is his role in the Grail story.
Surely this will involve Robin flashbacks to his involvement with Camelot. We’ll probably even see how and why he got the tattoo.
[adrotate group="5"]July 31, 2015 at 8:42 am #306710RumplesGirlKeymasterIsaac introducing the EF to Christianity could work but he never struck me as particularly religious nor possessing the charisma it takes to convert a world to a new religion. He’d have to do a ton of explaining and such because it’s not just “here’s this guy named Jesus. He died for us. Yay!” it requires the proper historical narrative and backdrop, none of which the EF has.

That would explain why Arthur and his knights are still looking for the Grail without the writers needing to get around the complicated historical narrative of Christianity. Part of Arthurian mythology stress a rather Messianic quality–the idea idea that he and Camelot will return someday. In this case, it could be a literal return (Arthur and his knights actually coming to our world once more).

I’m biased, but that would actually be very cool. Maybe the seat has been empty since Robin deflected.
There is a picture of the actor who plays Percival with Lana/Regina and a choreographer and a source said they were filming a ball on Wednesday. So that could relate to this story as well. A bad blood feud.

These characters aren’t simply fictional fairy-tale characters like Cinderella. They may have been real people who lived in a real time and place in history (i.e. medieval Europe and China), but around whom legends have sprung up in the following centuries. However, for the sake of the story, I must admit that I’m curious to know how they’ll grapple with the host of difficulties that Arthur being an archetype Christian king seems to present. My guess is that these show-runners will simply skip over any religious significance of the Holy Grail and instead make it out simply to be some magical cup with mystical properties, like it grants eternal life (which yes, I realize is full of Christian symbolism).

That’s probably exactly what they’ll do.

Isaac did not bring Christianity to the EF. Guys…he was Jewish.

Possibly, yes. We haven’t seen him on set thus far and no one has reported him being around so far as I can recall.
