Guess this episode is a Snowing centric. I initially assumed that the Camelot flashback would be several years in past, not during the group’s stay in Camelot. I recall hearing about the cast filming with a grail (likely the plot device you’re referring to), so chances are this little adventure of Charming and Arthur’s is an homage to the quest for the holy grail. Hence the title.

15 cookies that they don’t actually call it the Holy Grail, only “special relic”

Also, looks like we’ll finally get the answer to the question of if Lance is alive or not

Meanwhile, Mary Margaret discovers the fate of her old friend Lancelot.

Pretty much 100% confirms that he’s alive (Since she already believes that he is dead – that means she discovers that he’s alive).

Alive but likely on some sort of mission hence why we didn’t see him in 502

Cora’s not exactly the most trustworthy person, and it’s only by her word that we believed him to be dead anyway.

I’d say the chances are 50/50 he’s alive.

Slightly disappointed that it looks like Belle’s part will be small, if she’s there at all. (Neal’s babysitter, sigh. I love her with baby Neal but…)

Not to mention that Adam and Eddy have even said not to take Cora’s word for it in an interview back in Season 2. So I think they always genuinely planned for him to still be alive.

I think Cora made a deal with Merlin…in exchange for Lancelot’s life, he owed her a favor. Probably that’s how she got that staff that managed to stop the “unstoppable” Dark Curse.
