Nimue is lovely, and does look a bit like Violet. But then again, Arthur looks a bit like Hook. Her dress has a rose floral pattern. More RODs (roses of doom) — this definitely doesn’t spell anything good for Merlue (Nimlin?)
She seems to be wearing some pendant cleverly concealed by her hair. I wonder if that’s going to be significant in some way?
Masked Dark One appears to have a rather strong chin, so I doubt it’s Nimue. I wonder what the significance of the mask’s design is, if any.

The press release mentions that she’s a refugee or something, so it’s probably tied to part of her sob story. (mother gave it to her as they fled; father made it using a beam from their house before the Villain crushed it; she made it out of a stone given to her by her first and only friend before he was sucked into a vortex of evil; the stone reminds her to be brave, to love deeply and that kindness matter. Or you know…something equally sappy)

1) Dark Ones, or at least Rumpel and Zoso, have goldish type scaly skin. The mask looks somewhat along those lines. 2) I was looking at the top of the mask and it seems like the mask COULD be fire. Seeing as they are going after Prometheus fire, that could be a thing and also….Hades has fire for hair.. So hmm…..

There’s a large amount of crisscrossing of religious symbolism going on here. On the one hand, there are crosses everywhere. On the other hand the synopsis reveals the spark of life is Prometheus’ flame. While I expect a dose of Christian symbolism due to Arthurian legend being set in medieval Christian Europe, it strikes me as odd to see a cross on the base of what what is presumably a pagan alter to the Greek god.
2. Both the original Dark One and present-day Merlin are dressed in black and have crosses on their belt buckles. Contrast that with earlier pictures of Merlin in white when he is with Nimue.
3. Whatever Nimue’s pendant symbolizes, I’m guessing it’s not a good thing. In Arthurian legend, Nimue is Merlin’s downfall. Hence, the FLOWERS OF DOOM.
