Well, my beliefs about Nimue are pretty much cemented now. 2nd Dark One probably. Only…how will they find her if Dark Ones are usually killed to pass on the mantle?

I’m going to venture a guess that individual DOs are not in fact dead as such, but rather their souls become part of the Darkness and are stored somewhere (in the dagger, the vault, or some other pocket universe) until the reforged Excalibur somehow releases them back to a physical plane. I think Rumple’s whole heart drama in the previous season hinted at a process of progressive corruption where the host eventually becomes ALL darkness – my guess is that when they reach that point they more or less lose their mind or personality altogether, and become sort of individual embodiments of the (general) Darkness. Something like that.

oooh! I bet the ring is a magical mcguffin that Hook got from daddy Jones (must have belonged to hook’s dad or possibly his mom, but it seemed a bit big and the style is more like a guy-ring.) I imagine we will see a flashback to when his Dad gave it to him to protect him.

A lot of people are speculating it is the same ring pictured here that hook wears on his pinky ring so it could be his Mother’s afterall. This would make more sense since Hook didn’t exactly have fond memories of his dad. The only reason I think it could be otherwise/why we will see a flashblack of his dad giving him the ring is because I don’t think they have done casting for Hook’s mother, but we know Daddy Jones has started filming.
