The shoehorning and flirting have already been discussed so…

    1) I really hope that this Regina-Hook thing adds a lot to the overall plot. Only if it does can I accept this being crammed in so tightly.

    2) If Regina and Hook did more than just flirt, then shouldn’t Regina or Hook have told Emma by now???

    3) Re: Sneak Peak 2: Why is original! Hook completely gone? With Rumple he was still in there somewhere. Is it because he had already been dark in the past before he became the DO? Or is it number 4…see below….

    4) I think Hook is still in there, and he will make a big sacrifice for Emma (thus revealing that he is still in there), resulting in a road trip (physically or metaphysically) to Hell/Hades to retrieve him.  This sacrifice might mean Emma killing him or he killing himself. This DO performance until now is just so Emma wouldn’t hesitate to kill Hook and save herself, or throw Emma off the scent that he is about to sacrifice himself.

(If someone has already said number 4 then I apologise, I don’t look at all the threads or all of the posts in the same thread b/c I don’t have time).

    5) Sneak Peek 2: Emma is back to a deep voice again. Her voice was a higher pitch last episode after she dropped the pretense and gave people their memories back. I’m confused. Is the presence of the other DOs making her more vulnerable to the DO inside her?

The other thing is that it seems like they could have easily done this Hook flashback without involving Regina, and without contradicting anything in the timeline. The important aspect of this is between Hook and his father. I mean Hook is almost 200 years old. That opens up a lot of different time periods this flashback could have taken place in. Thanks to what “Poor Unfortunate Soul” established, we also know that Pan sent Hook back to the Enchanted Forest on errands, so its not like they were limited to doing flashbacks in Neverland either. They also didn’t need to shoehorn Evil Queen Regina into this flashback, when we’ve heard that there’s yet another Evil Queen Regina flashback coming up in 512, the very next episode.

As infuriating as the t-word issues (WHICH DIDN’T HAVE TO BE AN ISSUE OMG WHY DID THEY GO AND CREATE THIS ISSUE URGH) are, something else that’s annoying me is that Hook’s standing out in the middle of the open with a wine goblet. There’s no bottle, (even though he says he’d have had another, so what was he hoping to pour that extra drink out of I wonder), he’s just randomly standing around in the middle of nowhere with a freaking goblet of wine. I know this is nitpicky, but it just looks SO out of place, and doesn’t the guy have a flask he’d more realistically be drinking out of instead?

I just want to spell this out to make sure I’ve got this right. The only way this fits into the continuity of season 2’s Queen of Hearts episode is as follows: Regina tells Hook of his mission in the Queen of Hearts, then gives Hook his hook back. Hook then goes to a random forest waiting for Regina to show up in her carriage, where she arrives wearing a completely different outfit and hairstyle. They go do whatever else happens in this episode, then go back to the exact same room where they were talking in Queen of Hearts, where Regina puts the outfit she was wearing earlier back on and styles her hair the same way it was before. She then takes Hook’s hook again and enchants it to rip out a heart (or gives him a heart ripping potion if we’re going with season 5’s continuity), gives his hook back then sends him through the hat portal “immediately.”

This is borderline broken continuity AGAIN.

Poor Keb when she comes to timelining this.

    @Phee
, you are right! Even if you could argue that Hook was pouring from his flask into the goblet and kept the flask hidden on his person, the question still remains: WHERE DID HOOK GET THE GOBLET FROM?

All magic comes with a price!

    PLOT

    4) I think Hook is still in there, and he will make a big sacrifice for Emma (thus revealing that he is still in there), resulting in a road trip (physically or metaphysically) to Hell/Hades to retrieve him. This sacrifice might mean Emma killing him or he killing himself. This DO performance until now is just so Emma wouldn’t hesitate to kill Hook and save herself, or throw Emma off the scent that he is about to sacrifice himself.

Yup, that’s exactly how it’s going down pretty sure.

I know this is nitpicky, but it just looks SO out of place, and doesn’t the guy have a flask he’d more realistically be drinking out of instead?

No it’s insane, you’re right. I wonder if the budget was limited and they couldn’t CGI the castle room again?

You’re probably right. At first I thought Hook was just being his suicidal season 2 self again, but maybe challenging Rumple was a way to get somebody to kill him. I mean he’s a DO, he could’ve gotten out of that fight in any number of ways, yet he lay on the ground with Excalibur pointed at him. Not resisting much at all.
