I don’t think Robin’s death triggers Hook’s return, but rather it comes down to awkward timing. Hades kills Robin with that Olympian Crystal, and I’m still guessing that Zeus is responsible for bringing Hook back via the ambrosia. I guess it’s a life for a life in the sense that the writers felt that there needed to be another major death in return for Hook coming back. I’m sure from Regina’s point of view, she’ll end up blaming Emma, since Robin wouldn’t have died had they not gone to the Underworld in the first place.

It’s a mockery. Wonder what A&E meant that the episode would break hearts as well as ignite hope …
So it’s true Robin dies saving Regina and now we going to have her become evil again because of it I really don’t want to see that again why can’t she honor the love she has for Robin and be the person he fell in love with
I actually don’t think Regina goes EQ because of this. I think it’s a magical macguffin (the Jekyll/Hyde potion) like @Matt suggested.

I suspect the ignite hope is something like “hope because Regina is going to resist going evil queen because of the death of a loved one! Look how far she came!”

Well, the way I was imagining it was that RH gets murdered and then someone tries to pull that card, as in “Hey, RH died a few hours ago…but hades can we make a swap?” Like, I don’t think that would work. But idk, for a switch to happen it sseems like it would have to be intentional, and I doubt RH is going to give up his life willingly knowing hes got two kids. But eh, who knows.
It looks like Zelena might kill Hades hence why there probably be won’t be a trade of any sort but “luckily” Zeus was kind enough to bring Hook back because of all the good deeds Hook has done in the underworld.

Lana Parrilla said just two weeks ago at a Con that she would like Regina take her family and visit Paris….at this point, I’d rather Regina take Henry, Zelena, and Baby Hood and just poof out of Storybrooke…..when Emma wants to see Henry, she can hop on a plane and get him for certain breaks or even summer…..but Regina and Zelena just need to be away from the “heroes” because no happiness can come to them as long as they’re around that self righteous family!

Agreed. I think it’s telling when you hope the villain of the arc wins and the “heroes” lose.

Guess Robin Hood is really dead for good then. He basically functioned as Regina’s bag holder so it’s not like he impacted the story in any meaningful way, he even disappeared for several episodes this arc “in the woods” to look after the baby, Sean has gotten hate from SQers who think Robin stands in the way of Emma and Regina being together. Maybe Sean decided enough was enough. I can’t see the show taking time out to do a Robin Hood backstory when he is dead present day because nobody really cared about him the first time because he was written as an attachment rather than a character in his own right. He could appear in a flashback to another character but I doubt he’s going to get one of his own at all after this episode.
