October 25, 2015 at 8:46 pm #310791nonnieParticipantLOVED EMMA and REGINA working together to release MERLIN …. EVEN if it blew a few of my theories ….
OH EMMA how could you take VIOLET”s …. I predicted it but really I did not think she would do it….

.October 25, 2015 at 9:09 pm #310801TheWatcherParticipantI really loved this episode!!!!
LIKED:
– Henry!!! Awww! Poor henry! In the past and present!!!!! 🙁 *tears*
– I love how deliciously evil Emma is. Yes, taking violet’s heart was so horrible but it was what had to be done….. She got results didn’t she? It’s sad and horrid but I loved it!!! And I called it somewhat earlier in the episode before it occurred 😛
– Merlin. MERLIN!!!!! I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE MORE OF HIM! Also first dark one had a cool mask.
– The usage of the dreamcatchers.
– And of course: NEAL REFERENCES!!! NEAL REFERENCES EVERYWHERE! HE IS NOT FORGOTTEN. Well at least, he was not for this episode. Next week we go right back to pretending he doesn’t exist, I bet.
DISLIKES:
– Merida/Rumpel. I am still not following this. It was one of the downsides of the episodes. I really hate seeing Rump like this and I don’t understand how making him brave makes him worthy to take the sword out of the stone.
"I could have the giant duck as my steed!" --Daniel Radcliffe
Keeper Of Tamara's Taser , Jafar's Staff, Kitsis’s Glasses , Ariel’s Tail, Dopey's Hat , Peter Pan’s Shadow, Outfit, & Pied Cloak,Red Queen's Castle, White Rabbit's Power To World Hop, Zelena's BroomStick, & ALL MAGICOctober 25, 2015 at 9:09 pm #310802WickedRegalParticipantThis episode was….great!!! I give it a 9/10.
Likes:
“If I’m the one standing on moral high ground…look how far you have fallen Ms. Swan.” – Regina (Best line of the night)
All the Regal Believer & even few Swan Believer Feels.
Regina being so concerned about who her son’s girlfriend was.
Of course the family adventure through Emma’s house.
Merida training Rumple was more interesting than I thought it would be, though I still think it should have been Hercules who would have helped Rumple become a hero through his heart rather than his brains.
Emma and her Grams Gina working together to free Merlin, and of course that face off at the end of the episode.
All the Neal Mentions!
OutlawQueen in Regina’s House!
Seeing the parallel between Regina, Daniel, and Cora being used for Henry, Violet, and Emma. Obviously that’s where Emma got the inspiration for, and it was in a stables too!
Dislikes:
Seeing the heartbreak on Henry’s face.

October 25, 2015 at 9:22 pm #310817RumplesGirlKeymasterSo this episode happened.
Here’s the thing; this one is very hard for me to look at and discuss because right now I hurt. That’s the thing with OUAT. It knows how to bait and reel you in. Obviously, the Neal references tonight were just…yeah. All over and they hurt. The problem (THE PROBLEM) is that I now know that they were all bait and they were all there to try and appease a group of fans and that, in the long scheme of things they don’t mean anything. The show will continue to promote another ship (and bait, still, another one) and Neal will be forgotten once more. Notice how they don’t even say his name–Hook gets to say Baelfrie, but Rumple can’t even say “Bae.” Sure. Not bait at all, right.
I guess, if anything, this episode continued to prove to me that SF was always endgame but somewhere along the lines it got….killed.
In other news: 100% better than last week in terms of morals (well, mostly) and a lot better in terms of plot, though still with the abundance of magical McGuffins. Seriously, stop that! Right now it’s tying with 501 for best of the season.
LIKED
–All the Neal references.
–“I liked your dad because he was always himself”
–Henry opening up to Violet about losing his father
–“Only You” being an SF song
–Emma reminding Henry that you shouldn’t change who you are to please someone else. Kinda wish Emma would take her own advice.
–The VioletBeliever date was adorable.
–Carnival in a can….well, that’s one to describe Soda
–Regina shooting down Hook trying to teach Henry how to woo a woman. Atta Tiger Mom!
–Regina and Emma’s conversation at the end. VERY season 1 in a very good way
–Um. Merlin is cute, right?!
–The beginning was interesting. It’s a story I want to know more about.
MIXED
–Belle is only part of the gang when she needs to tell them something. But still…cute outfit!
–Emma taking Violet’s heart. Low blow, Swan. But still shows what a desperate soul will do. Which has always (always!!!) been a major theme on this show.
DISLIKED
–What is this Rumple and Merida NONSENSE. Seriously. What is this story?? It’s stupid is what it is.
–How does Merida know about the book? And how did Merida break into that office?
–Merida couldn’t just try to open the shop door? She had to open it with an arrow?? Why…?
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"October 25, 2015 at 9:25 pm #310820KebParticipantThis was my fave of S5 so far (but the promo after…well, we’ll see in a week).
Liked:
–Henry courting Violet (so super sweet)
–Henry’s parents giving him advice and shutting down Hook’s :p
–Henry following his Dad’s example (Yay Neal!)
–Neal being very present the way that he should have been all along
–Henry and Violet bonding over love of family
–Henry’s horse/knight lessons from way back when actually coming back
–Emma being back in Operation Cobra (even if it was a fakeout)
–Regina’s contributions were some of the most self-aware and heartrending too
–Belle being smart and helping out and looking for her man
–Merida using the cup
–Belle is Rumple’s strength! I KNEW HE NEEDED TO LOVE HER FULLY TO BE A HERO.
–Emma’s manipulations were awesome and horrific at the same time
–Emma’s magic freeing Merlin (that was one of the more beautiful magic sequences we’ve had)
–Callbacks to S1 and S2 EVERYWHERE.Disliked:
–NO EMMA NO
–Emma so dark 🙁
–Would have liked a bit more Belle but this is definitely leading in that direction so I’m okay with that because it was awesomeKeeper of Belle's Gold magic, sand dollar, cloaks, purple FTL outfit, spell scroll, library key, copy of Romeo and Juliet, and cry-muffling pillow, Rumple's doll, overcoat, and strength, and The Timeline. It always was my theory that the actor playing NEAL/ BAEFIRE did not like the character or the part he was playing and baled when he got an offer for a better acting job that was more to his liking. I do not think and instead built up HOOK to be the love interest… I know this has been denied in the Q&A sessions but time has proven my theory as accurate.

Except Michael Raymond-James did not get a full time gig anytime soon after leaving OUAT. He took much smaller, quick roles for awhile before landing over at Game of Silence (which just begun to film).
But I’m not interested in starting a CSF war. I just stated my opinion. I’m not going down that rabbit hole.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"October 25, 2015 at 11:33 pm #310881SapphireParticipantOverall, I really enjoyed this episode!! This may be my favorite of the season so far.
Liked:
-Appearance of who I assume is the first DO.
-Regina concerned about Henry & Violet
-Cruella’s car for sale in the background of one of the scenes
-All the Neal mentions and S1 / S2 references
-Regina’s memory with Cora and Daniel
-Stud Muffin Merlin
-“Peter Peter’s Pumpkins & More!” Cute.
-The light and dark magic freeing Merlin from the tree.
-Merlin shutting Arthur down when he reaches for Excalibur. Go home Arthur, your sword’s broken.
-Merida taunting Rumpel with the cup.
-Emma ripping out a 13 year old’s heart. Her Cora-inspired manipulation of Henry had me glued to the TV.
-Henry seeing the memory of Emma taking Violet’s heart. Get ready to deal with the consequences Ms. Swan.
-Emma has to be truly ready to let go of the darkness.
-Emma and Regina’s conversation at the end.Mixed:
-Sir Morgan
Disliked:
-Rumpel’s hero training.
-Merida knowing about the book and where to find it.Keeper of Regina's book of magic
