As most of you know, the podcast has Press Access at ABC so I (and Hunter and Matt) get access to screeners. I watched the 100th episode tonight. Figured I’d pass along a few teasers/spoilers/reactions. Sorry, I can’t give more than I what I do below and I can’t really answer questions.
–Overall reactions: 7/10. It’s a decent enough episode. Certainly not the best they’ve ever done, but it’s not the worst. It’s not as solid as “The Dark Swan” was, nor as funny with the witty dynamic between Emma and Clippy DO! Rumple. This isn’t to say it’s bad, though. There are some very strong emotional beats. But it also slogs along in some places because they have to kill (no pun intended) some time.
–Since I know everyone will want to know: the Neal scene. Well, a lot of us were wrong, and a lot of us are partially right. The scene is highly subjective and I’d caution people to have both tissues AND tables ready. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to scream or cry, honestly. It is suffice to say, however, that anyone holding on to hope for a long con…well, it’s not a con.
–“Your questions are pointless” (possibly the entire theme of the series)
–There is a new Operation name and once you hear it, a lot of the most recent spoilers fall into place.
–While the moment between Regina and Cora is nice, honestly it’s the two moments between Regina and Henry Sr in Hellbrooke that take the cake.* Seriously, @WickedRegal have several boxes of tissues at hand. It’s going to kill you.
–The flashbacks are decent enough but as per usual lately are somewhat lackluster. At least it answered a question we’ve had for a long time. Also, Regina’s got a new ball gown that I would literally rip off of her body and wear everyday for the rest of my life. Y’know..if I could.
–Hades: when he’s not CGI’d (which is incredibly distracting and pretty bad) he’s going to be a very fun character, I think. He’s got that devilish charm we all wanted but is still pretty menacing. Really looking forward to a scene with him and Rumple.

Operation Firebird, I’m guessing. Don’t know if it was suggested already or not but that’s my guess.

Con? I don’t understand…. Should I have hope or…. no, judt don’t tell me… let me dreaamm.

I think that means you should not hope. That Neal is dead and gone and never coming back. Though the way the writers talk about all of that, i haven’t hoped that he would be back for real since the end of Season 3.

I just know I’m going to be destroyed by the end of this episode! Regina and Cora are enough to get the flood works going, but seeing Regina with her daddy in the afterlife will just be the end! This entire time I’ve been wanting to see a scene like this, and now I don’t know if I’m ready to face it….

February 23, 2016 at 8:21 am #317546kranenParticipantJust finished watching it myself. I completely agree with everything RG posted.
I’m a little upset that they didn’t find a way to include Zelena since they featured every other series regular (Including Belle for literally 5 seconds). Although to be honest I never actually thought about her until she had her name dropped by someone towards the end.
It’s also worth noting that when they started to announce all of these characters returns for the 100th episode, it sounded like they’d only be around for the one episode. However it’s safe to say that everyone will be around for the majority of the season (with the exception of Giancarlo who was only around for the flash-back parts).
I had my doubts about the Underworld but I think I’m going to enjoy this storyline and may actually be a little upset when it’s over. So far it’s so much fun!
February 23, 2016 at 8:52 am #317547Bar FarerParticipantHonestly I didn’t like The Dark Swan so if you say that this one is worse? I have no hope for this series whatsoever.
My questions are (just yes or no will be enough):
1. Were there any retcons?
2. Were there any inconsistencies?
3. Were there any OOC moments?

I suggest u to search online, bc i saw many people rant about it already, appears there is someone that saw the screening and is posting spoilers online, but dont know if is on twitter or tumblr.

If you didn’t like The Dark Swan, then you are probably too far gone to be pleased by the show anymore. Which is fine. Not saying that as a negative thing. But it will likely take a lot for you to think an episode is good now. The fact that Rumple’s girl gave it a 7/10 means I will probably give it an 8/10 haha. It’s encouraging.
The Neal thing is sad as I’d hoped he would make a return around the finale. But I’m mostly happy that Greg Germann is doing a good job with Hades and that the writing for Hades seems good out of the gate. Let’s go #operationfirebird

Hmm….I wonder. What a tease! So at least it wasn’t completely pointless if it actually answered a question. But I really have no idea what we have wanted to have answered about Regina.
