Good to know that it’s the actual storybook and not a MacGuffin!

The game is rigged. No one can leave….

Then how the bleep did Daniel, Neal and perhaps some others with downturned grave stones leave to a better place then?

Confused. Did I spot a plot hole just from the sneak peak?

If there is a separate book for the Underworld, I wonder if it is in Snow’s wardrobe…..

I assumed that Neal never went to the Underworld at all, but went directly to the better place. Not sure about Daniel, but either he moved on directly too, or he finished his unfinished business when he last talked to Regina as Zombie Daniel in “The Doctor”.

I think the problem is the vagueness of the language and the fact that the world building of the Underworld is seriously shaky (if compelling in some regards).

Which game is rigged? The finish-your-business game or the leave-the-Underbrooke game? It would make sense that Hades has prevented souls from finishing their business to keep them in the Underworld. But that doesn’t change the fact that there are souls–Daniel and most likely the unseen other down turned gravestones–who have done it,and at least a portion of those did it without our heroes helping them move on which means that the game cannot be *that* rigged and it certainly means that “no one can leave” is false.

Or that they just didn’t bother themselves to think about it logically and hope their viewers are too dumb to notice or understand or question it…

Yeah, I think that Daniel was stuck in a kind of limbo until Regina released him in The Doctor. Possibly because of whatever magic she was using to preserve his body in hopes that magic could bring him back? With the unfinished business being that so long as she clung to him as her only hope for happiness, he couldn’t move on…once she let him go, he was free, as was she to find new love.
