ParticipantThere are three different ways I could see this flashback playing out: 1) Young Regina and Young Zelena don’t meet, but their flashbacks parallel one another. Would be the most logical route to go, but this is OUAT, so that means maybe not. 2) Young Regina and Young Zelena meet, but without realizing that they’re sisters. 3) Young Regina and Young Zelena, find out that they’re sisters, and then Cora erases their memories of this encounter.
I think number 3 is the most probable….it’s the quickest way to mend Regina and Zelena’s strained relationship if they had already met under better circumstances that had only been wiped from their memories by Cora.
I think I’ve got a small idea…when Regina was younger, she got swept up by a magical tornado that could have been accidently conjured by either herself, which would explain her initial dislike of magic, or by a lonely Zelena who unknowingly caused it from Oz. Anyway it drops Regina off in Oz, and is found by Zelena, or if they want to keep up with some form of original Oz Storytelling…Regina could have accidently killed the Wicked Witch of the East and needs Zelena help to get out of Oz before she is found out thus being the sister’s first adventure. Of course with Rumple’s help, Cora arrives in Oz to get her daughter and meets Zelena. Maybe Cora needed to find a way to protect her first born, the one she knew Rumple really wanted, and erased Zelena and Regina’s memories of each other, took Regina and left Oz.

ParticipantIt started with Cora, it’s only fitting for Cora to finish it. I would love for Cora to hold an intervention between her daughters…just them and them alone. Finally an episode I have to look forward to…I have little hope, but something is better than nothing!
I’ll get super excited about this when Barbara is confirmed or starts filming again for this episode. Until then, I’m not counting my chickens that she will be in it.

Keymaster2) Young Regina and Young Zelena meet, but without realizing that they’re sisters. 3) Young Regina and Young Zelena meet, find out that they’re sisters, and then Cora erases their memories of this encounter.
Ooof. That would be a bad storyline, especially #2 which is just full of the cliche

#3 would be full of cliche too, given how many times this show has used amnesia.

ParticipantI reckon those casting calls could be fake.
a) Casting calls aren’t normally that detailed.
b) they misspelled queen as “Quen”
c) They misspelled the as “teh” twice
d) Why does child Regina have a hole in her heart? The hole in her heart didn’t happen until she cast the dark curse.
e) The whole “puts it all on “teh” line for a chance at family”. As far as Regina was concerned for her entire young life, her family consisted of Cora and Henry sr and probably what’s his face (Henry Sr’s dad). Why is she aiming at “for a chance at family” when she’s got one.
f) The grammatical errors of the Zelena casting call are awful and it reads like a summary of a fanfiction. Seriously, “And then, one day, she discovers (etc)” You wouldn’t put “And then” after a full stop to then use a comma, you would start a sentence with “one day”. “Giving her a chance” should come in the middle of a sentence after a comma, not in the beginning.
I honestly think these casting calls are fake because they are riddled with errors.

The tweets in the first part are transcriptions a few fans did. Here’s the original source, without the typos:

ParticipantThat was back in 2009, so she might be too old now.
She only looked about 4-5 there in my opinion and they’re looking for someone 11-13 so she’d be just right.

ParticipantSome of that still doesn’t make sense. Why does Regina have a hole in her heart as a child?
Why do I get the feeling that as each season progresses, the continuity errors will get bigger and bigger.

It’s a play on words. Not a physical hole in her heart. It means she feels that something is missing from her life.

Well, she grew up with a cowardly father and a literal “heartless” mother….who did Regina really have as a child?
