This is from Starr Raving
– Kitsis and Horowitz reveal what’s next on ‘Once Upon A Time’ season 3
Warning: character, storyline spoilers dead ahead
Not everyone cares for spoilers, but “Once Upon A Time” creators Adam Horowitz and Ed Kitsis know that fans of the show sometime can’t wait. Though the show makes its third season premiere on Sunday (Sept. 29 at 8:00 p.m. on ABC), they invited a few journalists to drop by Disney to watch the first two episodes of the season, then answered questions we had. If you’re wondering, yes, spoilers ahead. I’ll even say it loud: SPOILERS AHEAD. No complaining that you weren’t warned, people.
First off, you might have gotten an inkling last season that Peter Pan isn’t the cuddly creature we recall from the animated movie. Let’s just say that this dark and unexpected Neverland will rock your socks — and it’s set to rock the worlds of Emma, Hook, Regina, Snow, Charming and even Gold. “We’ve always wanted to go to Neverland,” Kitsis said. “It’s where you have to confront your past, and we wanted to have [the core characters] dig deeper.”
As for Peter Pan, Kitsis said, “He is a sick and twisted kid. When Rumpelstiltskin says he’s someone he’s frightened of, you know he’s scary.” The decision to make him dark was an easy one, according to the creators. “It came from a character place. Someone who refuses to grow up has to have problems. We started thinking of ‘Heart of Darkness,’ and he became our Kurtz.”
The Lost Boys have reason to be cranky, too. “Can you imagine for hundreds of years still getting carded?” Horowitz joked.
Still, like all villains on the show, Pan isn’t all bad. “They’re all looking for love, and I think you’ll see that as his story slowly unfolds,” said Kitsis.
“Evil isn’t born; it’s made,” added Horowitz.
Pan isn’t the only fairy tale character we’re set to meet. In episode three, expect Tinkerbell, and in episode six, Ariel. In the season premiere we meet other mermaids, but they’re not anyone you’d remember from “The Little Mermaid.” “Remember, mermaids were only nice to Peter Pan in the Peter Pan book,” says Kitsis. Still, Ariel will still have familiar elements. “[Star] Joanna Garcia is playing someone who wants to see the world. And there’s a fork. Remember when you watch, there’s a fork.” The Darling family will also be “integral” to the story overall and to Tinkerbell’s specifically, while Ursula and Prince Eric will also show up.
Though Kitsis and Horowitz say the theme for the season is belief, they also promise to dig deep into the story of Rumpelstiltskin. Episode four will be the first time we’ll dig into his backstory — and the episode is called “Nasty Habits.” The show creators were mum as to whether or not his bleak prophecy will play out. “He’s a man who wants to break the cycle and be a good father, but temptation keeps getting in the way,” Kitsis said.
What’s less clear is whether we’ll see sparks fly between Emma and Hook. “Hook is a man who likes the ladies, but right now, Emma is focused on getting Henry,” Kitsis said. “But we’ll see.”
It will also be a “while before we return to Storybrooke,” Kitsis said. Instead, we’ll see struggles within the Charming family, as Snow and Charming realize how difficult life has been for their daughter Emma, who “has more in common with the Lost Boys than with Snow and Charming, according to Kitsis. They will have the difficult task of giving their daughter a reason to have hope again.
There is, of course, one thing we won’t be seeing — the Rufio character from “Hook.” Though he’s mentioned briefly in an episode, Horowitz says, “He’s property of Columbia Pictures, so no Rufio.” Well, that was easy!

Once Upon a Time’ Season 3 premiere: ‘Demon’ Peter Pan, death in Neverland, and 8 more spoilers
Zap2it spent all Tuesday morning (Sept. 24) in Neverland, and we can’t wait for the rest of the world to join us there when “Once Upon a Time” Season 3 premieres on Sunday (Sept. 29). But since we can’t wait that long, we thought we’d give you a few teases from the first two episodes of the new season to tide you over until then.
Here are 10 scoopy spoilers from Sept. 29’s “The Heart of the Truest Believer” and Oct. 6’s “Lost Girl”:
10. While the Season 3 premiere starts off right where the Season 2 finale ended — Emma, Hook, Gold, Regina, Charming, and Snow sailing on the Jolly Roger to Neverland to save Henry who was kidnapped by Greg and Tamara, while Neal (presumed dead by everyone) fell through a portal to Fairytale Land — there is first a flashback to 11 years ago to kick off the new season. Hey, isn’t someone on the show 11 years old? I wonder what this flashback will be …
9. Greg and Tamara are so trusting in their mission from the “Home Office” — kidnap Henry, bring him to Neverland, in the interest of destroying all magic — that they never question their orders, not even once. They just do as they’re told … and they will learn pretty quickly that maybe that wasn’t the smartest thing to do.
8. As Henry’s family sails toward Neverland for the most uncomfortable family vacation in the history of ever, don’t expect everyone to all of a sudden be best friends. This is a ship full of heroes, villains, and a pirate, after all. Punches will be thrown.
7. Speaking of our favorite pirate, Hook is doing his best to win over more than one member of the motley crew, though his efforts are mostly focused on Emma. And since Emma believes that Neal is dead, you can’t blame a girl for finally starting to fall for Hook’s charms, can you?
6. Though we won’t be meeting Ariel until episode 6, we get our first glimpse at “Once Upon a Time’s” version of mermaids in the premiere … and the Charming crew won’t be too happy to meet them. These are some nasty creatures.
5. However, nothing holds a candle to the nasty, evil, big bad of the season: Peter Pan. He is nothing like what we’ve seen before on “Once,” and he’s nothing like the Peter Pan we know. You will meet him sooner than you think, and trust us when we say Gold wasn’t exaggerating when he said everyone should fear Pan. Hook even goes so far as to call him a “demon.”
4. The entirety of the first two episodes take place in Neverland and Fairytale Land, but viewers will get a glimpse of Belle (who stayed behind in Storybrooke) thanks to Gold.
3. Emma becomes the de facto leader of the group in Neverland, and thanks to the manipulative Peter Pan, she will have to accept who she truly is in order to find Henry. Warning: there is an incredibly heartbreaking scene between Snow and Emma. Have kleenex at the ready … you’ll need it.
2. Episode 2 features flashbacks to Fairytale Land, after Charming woke up Snow from her sleeping curse. While we watch Snow struggle with what to do next — battle Regina for control over the kingdom that’s rightfully Snow’s or live a quiet life with Charming and the dwarves — the dwarves take on a big brother-type role for Snow. Watching Grumpy call Charming a potential gold digger is hilarious, and adds some fun to an otherwise heavy story line.1. The setting of Neverland will force all the characters to confront their past and issues that have been plaguing them for the entire series. That is sped along by Peter Pan, who finds out everyone’s vulnerabilities and insecurities, and exploits them. Be prepared: people will die in Neverland, and pretty early on.
September 24, 2013 at 7:50 pm #211916darkones1fanParticipantWonder what they mean by Demon Peter Pan. Does he look inhuman or something. Like Rumple does in FTL…. But hey maybe that means my Chernabog theory will come true.
September 24, 2013 at 7:51 pm #211917HappyEndingsSpectatorSee I think I was right PP is jealous of Henry because he has people that love him and will fight for him.
September 24, 2013 at 8:13 pm #211918angiebelleParticipantI have a funny feeling we are going to see the end of Greg and Tamara pretty early on!
September 24, 2013 at 9:05 pm #211919RumplesGirlKeymasterThe Darling family will also be “integral” to the story overall and to Tinkerbell’s specifically
O_____O What does that mean?? Well, I’m really convinced now that Keychain and Glasses are the Darling brothers. But Tinerkbell…hm. Is she a double agent? Is she playing both sides, the Darling family and PP?
difficult life has been for their daughter Emma, who “has more in common with the Lost Boys than with Snow and Charming, according to Kitsis. They will have the difficult task of giving their daughter a reason to have hope again.
Make sense. She was an orphan. I expect this season to have lots of Charming family moments.
They just do as they’re told … and they will learn pretty quickly that maybe that wasn’t the smartest thing to do.
Yeah, RIP GOAT.

For those of you who really know me: prepare the platter of cookies. I shall need them.

:'( Oh no. Mama Snow feelings.

Can’t wait for the Snow/Emma scene, we haven’t had one of those since they were back in her old nursery. And super excited for Emma to get real about her feelings with Snowing, this needs to happen! Can’t wait to see Jennifer blow us away 🙂
Hm, so we don’t see SB in the first two but we at least see Belle apparently so that’s good – a Rumbelle kiss? YAY! But um, how lol? A dream maybe? Or through a mirror lol?
Trying to figure out who the 4 people are that throw punches – Snow, Charming, Emma, Hook and Regina…..I say Charming and Hook possibly, although there was a mention in one of these that they get along at one point? And I’d say Snow and Regina but Idk if Snow would do that, maybe Emma and Regina? Regina punches Hook or Charming? Snow punches Hook?
Is it Sunday yet?!?!?!?

I’m thinking the fight happens in 301 and I think it goes down like that:
Hook vs. Charming
Snow vs. Regina
And Emma breaks it up because Emma is the only one who can make those two sides work. She has her family in Snow and Charming, but she and Regina want the same thing, and Emma and Hook have a bond."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"September 24, 2013 at 9:41 pm #211928rumbelledearieParticipantrumbelledearie wrote: Trying to figure out who the 4 people are that throw punches – Snow, Charming, Emma, Hook and Regina…..I say Charming and Hook possibly, although there was a mention in one of these that they get along at one point? Or maybe her falling overboard is what stops the fighting lol.

What can you tease about Once Upon a Time’s premiere? — Jessica
NATALIE: It’s very action-packed. There will be fighting — seriously, at least two people get punched in the face and it’s awesome — flying and betrayal. But before we get to Neverland, the third season will pick up in the real world with a moment fans have been waiting for since the beginning of the series. But manage your expectations: You won’t get the whole story about that moment until Episode 9.http://www.tvguide.com/News/Mega-Buzz-Scandal-Hawaii-Five0-OUAT-1071248.aspx
