Well alrighty then. I have no idea. Possible idea:
–when she delivers Henry, the true love light shoots out

I know that this idea will be hotly debated because Ariel and Eric are beloved in the hearts of the Disney fanatics, but you’re right that thus far they haven’t said much about Eric and Ariel’s love story. And Gil was on set for 2 days whereas Joanna was around for much longer. Some might say that A and E wouldn’t touch such a classic story but the original is far from a happily ever after. And these are the two guys who wanted to kill Prince Charming in the Pilot. They have a lot more leeway now with Disney than they did back then. Back when the show was trying to get off the ground and get a green light, Disney stepped in and prevented Charming’s death but now…with the popularity of the show and all the twists and turns they’ve already made, it’s possible. And like KFC and Phee have pointed out (mostly in the Hookriel thread) there is a historical precedence for HCA and homosexuality.
I’d imagine this could also be a way to begin laying down the ground work for a possible run in with Eric in SB with the assistance of Pongo and…. Max. 😉

In order for their LGBT character to work apart from being the lone “gay token character” cliche network TV has a bad habit of doing they would have to open up his few episodes with an arc and love of his own. Raphael Sbarge was speculated prior to Eric’s casting to be their LGBT originally. He has also been seen filming most likely for the episode dealing with Regina’s adopting Henry back story episode. I’d imagine this could also be a way to begin laying down the ground work for a possible run in with Eric in SB with the assistance of Pongo and…. Max.
During the discussion we previously had about this topic, I decided that if Prince Eric is gay, he should be with Archie, so he still ends up with a redhead even if it’s not Ariel. 😉 Seriously though, people have speculated about Archie for ages, because he’s never been connected to anyone of either gender romantically. There was an interview somewhere recently where K&H said something along the lines of, “Our gay character may even be someone we’ve already met.” Like you say, they’re re-introducing Archie a bit with the adoption storyline. I think it’s more that there will be physical proof that Emma has magic before her trip to SB. Something about birthing Henry will give the audience (and Emma who always looks the other way when it comes to her magic) undeniable proof that the girl is spectacularly magical.

Seriously though, people have speculated about Archie for ages, because he’s never been connected to anyone of either gender romantically. There was an interview somewhere recently where K&H said something along the lines of, “Our gay character may even be someone we’ve already met.” Like you say, they’re re-introducing Archie a bit with the adoption storyline. I think if OUAT includes a gay character, then Archie or one of the 7 dwarves would make the most sense, given that they’re more significant characters than Prince Eric. That way, the writers can incorporate a gay character into the overall storyline rather than just touch on the subject in passing.
There’s an “excellent chance” of seeing Ariel’s nemesis and her boyfriend on Once Upon a Time, and we’re excited to see how they go about it. But Horowitz was sure to let us know that “Prince Eric is slightly different than he is in the movie,” and we’re wondering exactly what he means by “slightly.” Surce: Hypable
As a Disney purist, I prefer Ariel to be with Prince Eric. In the article, Prince Eric is referred to as her boyfriend, which suggests they’re in a romantic relationship. But, I have to admit, Adam’s quote about Prince Eric being “slightly different than he is in the movie” has me wondering what they’ve got in store.

Once Upon a Time Spoilers: Mean Mermaids, Multiple Deaths and More!
Ready to take a trip to Neverland?
Once Upon a Time Season 3 kicks off on Sunday, as most of our favorite characters are on board the same ship, heading to Peter Pan’s home, desperate to rescue Henry.
Having viewed advanced screenings of the first two new episodes, I can safely say they do NOT disappoint – and I can warn fans about the following spoilers as I offer up a few teases and tidbits regarding what’s on tap…
- All our characters are figuring out whether they’re believers and/or need to accept who they truly are. This is definitely not an easy task for any of them but especially for Emma.
- Ever been stuck on a car trip with people who easily get under your skin? That pretty much describes the voyage on Hook’s ship. (The bickering is fun but watch for punches to be thrown – and not only by the men!)
- If you think all mermaids are sweet and full of goodness like Ariel (JoAnna Garcia Swisher, who we’ll meet in the November 3 episode), think again.
- Someone voluntarily takes a swim on the voyage.
- More than one person dies in the first hour.
- Though I won’t say Captain Swan shippers will be completely satisfied, Hook definitely doesn’t hide his interest in a certain blonde on the show.
- Gold/Rumple does what he usually does: takes matters into his own hands. (He is so not a team player!)
- No signs of new romance for Regina… yet… but Lana Parrilla does have some of the best lines in the episode. And, as you’d expect, the sea air does not stop her from looking amazing!
- We know Neal is alive and we’ll see him encounter more than a few familiar faces.
- Henry is still a believer in magic, but that doesn’t mean he’s out of danger.
- We meet someone that even Rumplestiltskin is afraid of.
- Hook may have some new competition in the dream boat department when we meet Robin Hood (now played by Sean Maguire).
Once Upon a Time Season 3 gets underway on Sunday, September 29 at 8/7c.
