To quote Matt when he texted me the news: “this gives a whole new meaning to ‘when the audience figures something out, we have to change it'”
*rolls eyes*
Aladdin reference, whatever the reason but rly?

The title is plural for a reason. Evil Queen Regina calls Emma a street rat in a deleted scene from “There’s No Place Like Home”, and so does Lily’s adoptive father in a deleted scene from “Breaking Glass”.

Also, just recently the writers said they would love to explore more of Neal and Emma’s past in flashbacks. It makes me wonder if Neal and Emma are the ‘street rats’ in question.

I suspect that it will be Aladdin and Jasmine getting the flashbacks for this episode, not Emma. I’m sure there will be parallels with Emma, but those will likely be present day scenes.

I see mostly this being a Emma centric bc i see any centric Aladdin/jasmine with flashbacks being called ” A whole new world”.

The original leaked title was called “Diamond in the Rough”, though. So I still think it will be Aladdin focused. Not to mention, Jasmine is set to make her debut in “Strange Case”. “Strange Case” is going to be Jekyll/Hyde centric, so Jasmine might only appear for near the end of the episode, to connect to the next episode.

Well, yeah, that was odd, why change a episode name that hints to a character, to give it another name that hints to the same character, makes no sense, if they didnt want people to know what the episode is about. But then again, they are only now filming epi 4, right? so maybe script names can change or maybe some episodes have code names, that are not the real name of the episode, tv production is weird.
And have to say i agree with @Slurpez about the Neal thing, bc i dont think we will ever see anything Neal related, like A&E said or hinted or baited, but i do think she may be right in the sense that i see more being related to Aladdin and Emma, maybe Emma and Aladdin finally meet face to face, maybe Savior vs Savior, or something like that, not saying that jasmine wont be in the episode, just saying that maybe the main focus are not Aladdin & Jasmine love story, but Aladdin and Emma savior storyline.
But then again, i think the last time they had a episode title actually related to the storyline was in 221/222, where the episodes actually say Neverland, i dont remenber if all the other Disney guest stars epis, had any title that had a song on it, so maybe they dont use “whole new world” and just go with “street rats”, that is a bit of a disapointing title to Jasmine and Aladdin love story, i mean at least in my opinion.

Yes I agree.

But I keep thinking that they’ll make Jafar Aladdin’s Genie. And maybe twist the story so that Aladdin granted Jafar is freedom (like Aladdin does to Genie at the end of the Disney movie) only to have Jafar betray him.
Now that would definetly be a nice twist to the story!
And if only for one episode, we really need some closure to the Will & Anastasia Story.

http://tvschedule.zap2it.com/tv/once-upon-a-time-diamond-in-the-rough/EP014194780129?aid=tvschedule
http://www.thefutoncritic.com/showatch/once-upon-a-time/listings/
Futon and Zap2It get their schedule info directly from ABC. So did ABC make a mistake, or did they decide to go back to the original episode title? I personally prefer “Diamond in the Rough”, so I honestly wouldn’t mind if they did. Still seems like Adam and Eddy only changed the title in the first place because of the leak. It’s going to be amusing if even the press release uses “Diamond in the Rough”.
