Mmmm. But the Quill itself if magical (and apparently contains a soul) and needs a special and specific person to wield it. The tree that turns into the wardrobe is magic but neither August nor the chisel are magical like Henry and the Quill. Even if August super believes in himself that still doesn’t change the fact that the chisel is just a chisel.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought August said the chisel was magical. He just didn’t believe he had it in him to wield it like his father did.

With the caveat that this is just my interpretation, it seems to me that Hook himself was amusing, not because he was fat, but because of the mismatch between appearance and hubris. It’s mainly funny because regular Hook has been framed as a heart-throb. In other words, there would be nothing funny in “aging up” a character who isn’t an arrogant playboy. Say, if they’d aged up Robin in the same way — literally, zero lulz. But I’m with you on the cringeworthiness of Emma’s commentary — first because she was pointing out Hook’s physical flaws which seems shallow, in precisely that double-standard way you’re pointing out, but also because she was taking on the role of policing real Hook’s calorie intake (ie gender stereotype about women taking on the affective labor of managing their partner’s health; and men being portrayed as helpless slobs who don’t have a clue. Insulting on both fronts).
Or this is just all still leading to EQ getting what she deserves which actually is Legit Thief Wish Realm Robin. Maybe she deserves a happy ending too. But to me, the fact Robin didn’t age means that Charming’s wish has affected why Robin’s soul is in the Wish Realm.
Oy, this makes my head hurt. But I think you’re right, though framed this way, I wonder if @onceaholic is onto something — that this will lead to heart break for Regina. It all depends on whether Regina=Evil Queen as far as the magic of the wish is concerned.
I’m pretty sure Black Fairy told him that’s how it works. She probably wants the Savior dead.
I can see that but it bothers me because Gideon rejected all of the Black Fairy’s teachings, hates everything she is. So why hold on to that one lesson?

1) Why didn’t Snow wake up when Charming kissed her forehead in 6×11? They have shared TLK dozens of times, but this time, there was no rainbow. What gives?
2) How did the enchanted wardrobe transport Emma, Regina, and Robin? Wasn’t season one about how the enchanted wardrobe really had enough magic for only two people? Now we’re supposed to believe it had enough for three people? I know it’s an AU, but sheesh!
This show has major issues with being consistent.

I can see that but it bothers me because Gideon rejected all of the Black Fairy’s teachings, hates everything she is. So why hold on to that one lesson?
Gideon might think of his goal as noble and self-sacrificing. Saviors don’t just die, they suffer, and Gideon could be telling himself (perhaps honestly, perhaps as justification) that by killing Emma quickly he’d be sparing her from prolonged suffering.

I wonder if the person under the cloak in Emma’s vision will end up being the Black Fairy or even the Blue Fairy. That when she gets killed it will not be Gideon.
None of CHARMINGS & SNOWS kisses have woken each other up… EQ said back in the previous episode when the curse was cast that kisses and true love will not work to break this kiss.
BESIDES …. Ginny was not on set when filming these scenes she was back with the real babies.

Their kisses do wake each other up. But the other falls asleep in response. Charming should have fallen asleep when he kissed Snow’s forehead, and Snow should have woken up.
And if Ginny was unavailable then that’s fine, but then don’t write the scene that is inconsistent to the previously established story.

Yup, this was my biggest issue with the episode overall. Was hoping someone on here had an explanation. Bc to me, that might be the biggest retcon I’ve ever seen. And I’m usually one to let many slip…but I mean come on, the wardrobe is like one of the most vital things in OUAT. It jump-started the show. To just say that it can now bring 3 people back is ridiculous.
It was a different wardrobe. The tree grew thirty more years. I don’t know. The writers don’t keep track of anything. There is no good reason here. It was convenient to the plot.
Also, this is the wish world where nothing makes sense. Nothing is consistent. Part of the wish was that the Evil Queen aka Regina gets what she deserves. So the wardrobe can take three.
