Whiny is a good way to put it. She just has no moxie, she was okay in the season premiere but Jacinda is just getting worse with each turn. She constantly needs to be bucked up or convinced by her 10 yr old daughter and her roommate. Even cursed Mary Margaret had some of that Snow White oompf.
Yes, well said. Even Mary Margaret had more spirit than this gal, Jacinda! And that isn’t saying much since MM was pretty spineless when it came to Regina although she had a lot of redemptive qualities that Jacinda seems to lack. MM seemed to have patience with Emma, kindness towards others like visiting David in hospital, and professionalism — all things that Jacinda lacks at present!

She needs to be more sympathetic and Dania Ramirez needs to be more convincing in the role. It probably doesn’t help that we haven’t gotten much from her in flashbacks. Really just 701 and 703, so far. We especially need to see her and Henry’s relationship develop more, if we’re to believe that they’re true love and had a child together.

Exactly! Sweet Oz, all of this x10!!!

The fact that there’s still a lot of flashback time to fill in is what gives me some #hope that the character may improve. There’s about a decade between when she and Henry met and when the Curse happened, so there’s opportunity for development. I can fanwank that the Curse made her revert to the worst version of herself, which is why she’s becoming increasingly annoying in present day. As long as she learns and grows from her experience with the Resistance, and from being around Regina giving her pep talks from experience, Ella could grow into a stronger character in the flashbacks. They need to make this happen, and quickly, because the more we see of Jacinda, the harder it will be to win us over with Ella.
November 6, 2017 at 11:37 pm #344283SlurpeezParticipantThis week’s episode is supposed to show Henry and Ella getting closer in flashbacks. Here’s hoping that we get to see exactly what Henry sees in her because so far I’m stumped!

November 7, 2017 at 1:27 am #344286ry4christParticipantI’m late to the party, but here’s my reactions to the episode.
Liked:
– Ivy. She’s awake and is in league with the tower witch! Loved this reveal/twist. Didn’t see it coming. I’m really liking her character – fun snark and more than meets the eye. Her tiny scene in New EF was fun too. Adelaide Kane is doing a great job in her role. Also: Ivy looks at the Witch’s hair. “We really need to find you a stylist.” – Wig theme of the season! haha
– Roni finding the pic. I liked that it didn’t instantly trigger her memories – it will be fun to see that play out between Roni and Henry.
– Victoria’s “anti-pep?” speech to Ivy. Wow. This is a new level of mother to daughter cruelty. Even Cora pretended to care about Regina. Victoria is just flat out verbally abusive. It’s awful to see, but they needed to take her to the next and different level in that way to distinguish her as a unique villain, so I’m glad they’re portraying that more than they have been.
– I’m not a huge fan of Disney’s “Princess and the Fog” movie, but I like their twists and execution of the story. Facilier was a good villain – I’m assuming will get more of him later. I also liked them giving us part of how Tiana became the woman she is as the resistance leader.
Mixed:
– I liked seeing Tiana’s character development and her conversation with her Mom at the end, but how exactly did she solve the kingdom’s money problems? Yay for character growth, but you still have to pay the bills Tiana lol I’m hoping we see that explained further in future episodes.
– Jacinda and Sabine’s story. Yes Jacinda was too harsh after the fire, but I can appreciate her struggle and spending the rent money to buy a stripped out food truck really doesn’t make sense. The balance between being realistic, yet hopeful wasn’t quite there like I think the writers wanted it to be.
– I really want to know Lucy’s level of “awakeness.” If she remembers everything, I feel like her emotions and reactions to everything need to be more dynamic like when she started to break down and cry in the first episode. Even if she just has knowledge of the past, this should be really traumatic for her. It was hard enough for Henry as a kid, believing the truth without anyone supporting him – Lucy actually lived through some of this!
Disliked:
– No Rumple or Alice. Especially after last week’s ep it would have been nice to at least have acknowledged they’re still on the show.
November 7, 2017 at 10:42 am #344289TheWatcherParticipantIn regards to Lucy’s awareness, I actually just recalled Lucy was present in the flashbacks of the FTL. So not only was she possibly born there but she should have already met the others who were there.
So….why is itba surprise to her next episode that roni is Regina. Shouldn’t have known this? or is Lucy not really “awake” but has pieced everything together from what she read in the book?

You mean at the end of S6? I think that was a flashfoward, not back.

The scenes of Lucy and Henry/ Lucy and Tiger Lily in EF 2.0 were flashforwards compared to when the story left off in S6 in SB, but they were actually flashbacks compared to the present-day in HH. Henry has aged 20 years since he left SB, and we know that Lucy is 10. (Never mind the fact that Regina hasn’t aged a day. Maybe Regina has been using magic to keep herself looking youthful).
