I’m just going to prepare myself to be disappointed……

November 1, 2017 at 9:04 am #344027SlurpeezParticipantI strongly suspect that Eloise Gardner is the witch whom Victoria (aka Rapunzel) has locked up in her tower. As far as I can tell, she is the only missing person in the story so far, and we know the winter finale is called The Secret Garden. I think it is going to be the old bait-and-switch kind of reveal in which Victoria Belfry turns out to be Rapunzel, who is really a villain, while Gothel is the misunderstood anti-hero. It is a well-worn trope now on OUAT like when Peter Pan was really the villain and Hook was the anti-hero or in which King Arthur was actually a power-crazed schmuck.

Hook’s daughter being the witch would also be a twist that none of us initially saw coming. Not to mention, she’s supposed to be missing, which we can say is the case for the witch, since Victoria has her locked up. Alice/Tilly is freely wandering about.
November 1, 2017 at 4:21 pm #344055hjbauParticipantThat just shouldn’t be what they do. They shouldn’t be trying to trick us. They should be leading us to the ending. Though really who people are should not be the big twist of the season; it should be what they do now and what they did in their past and how the two interact.
November 2, 2017 at 6:47 pm #344093TheWatcherParticipantSo I found this:
The name “Eloise” comes from the Old French name Héloïse, which is probably from the Germanic name Helewidis, composed of the elements heil “hale, healthy” and wid “wide”. It is sometimes associated with the Greek word ‘ηλιος (helios) “sun” or the name Louise, though there is not likely an etymological connection.
Rapunzel got her powers from a sun infused flower.
Eloise = Rapunzel.

And if Hook and his daughter have met before and played chess, then they should know what each other look like. I think that is the biggest hit against Victoria being Hook’s daughter even though all the clues point to it being her.
It might end up that Hook’s daughter is just random person number 3. Though, Alice is still on the short list.
November 2, 2017 at 11:51 pm #344105PheeParticipantI just don’t see Alice being Hook’s kid. I mean, even if he doesn’t remember who he really is, he still knows that as a cop he has a memory of working this case about a lost girl, right? So he’d have a memory of seeing the missing girl’s photo in the case file, surely? So if Alice was the girl he’s looking for, he should have recognised her, which he did not.

Nice find! I was figuring that Eloise would be Rapunzel just going by the Gardener surname, because in the fairytale, Rapunzel’s father was stealing from a witch’s garden and that’s why she ended up in the tower.

Nice find! I guess the bigger question is, now, who is Rapunzel? Is it lady Tremaine (seems so unlikely!) or Anastasia? Or someone else altogether?
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"November 3, 2017 at 10:12 am #344111hjbauParticipantMaybe it just isn’t Victoria or Alice and they will just introduce a new character named Rapunzel and she will be Hook’s daughter. I think part of me always hopes that it is possible to figure the show out, as in they are writing mystery again and not just tricks, but i shouldn’t think that. It should be Tremaine or Alice at this point. I agree though Alice just doesn’t feel like Hook’s daughter. And yeah, doesn’t he with his fake memories know what the person he is looking for looks like, but then Tremaine didn’t act like Hook was her father when he showed up and asked her to make him look young again in the flashbacks. Who knows though.
November 3, 2017 at 12:35 pm #344112ry4christParticipantwe know the winter finale is called The Secret Garden.
There was a recent article that said there’d be just 10 episodes before the break, so “The Eighth Witch” will be our winter finale.
