Last episode before a small break–what were your favorite and least favorite moments of Pretty in Blue?
[adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"November 17, 2017 at 10:00 pm #344626RumplesGirlKeymasterGENERAL: For an episode taking place in Wonderland there was little to no Alice! And the episode was much poorer for it. Honestly, most of this hour was just bad, apart from some clever one liners. Very disappointed with this one since I was really looking forward to an Alice adventure.
5.5/10
LIKED
–“I tend not to trust people who tie me up and drug me.”
–“This is Alice of Wonderland….and other places.”
–“I may not have magic here but I have a handy baseball bat!”
–“Oh that’s cute. You think I’m going to villain monologue for you?”
MIXED
–Drizella just stands there while a mirror falls on her instead of moving out of the way or using magic! But Alice was cool dropping the mirror on her.
–The Lucy/Jacinda moment at the house would be sweet if they hadn’t seen each other like every single episode?
DISLIKED
–Holy plot spaghetti, Batman! In the first ten seconds we learn that Alice is infected with some sort of dark magic inside her heart that prevents her and Hook from touching and apparently can transfer to other people?! I know exposition is coming but good lord that was a lot all of a sudden.
–Really? Henry is listening to a song called “Bizarre Love Triangle” when he meets Nick? *rolls eyes* That’s a little on the nose, even for OUAT.
–More unneeded plot spaghetti through exposition with Ella’s sad family tale. Show me Ella’s life, stop telling it to me! It’s not helping bolster her character.
–Honestly, the Ella/her mother/the curse stuff would be more powerful if Ella wasn’t such a drag of a character (also if they would SHOW us this stuff!)
–Curse of the Poisoned Heart. Okay then, sure.
–How is Drizella already a powerful sorceress, capable of casting curses, and leading people down rabbit holes when it was literally YESTERDAY (for the characters) that Drizella killed the Prince???!
–Instead of falling in love slowly over time, Henry and Ella have a necklace do the work for them! Geeeeeez, come on.
–“As much as I want to go to SB to get help, we can’t do that and they can’t know we’re here!” Because…..??????? Oh right. The whole cast quit a year ago.
–Nick is Jack? Jack a giant killer? I mean, sure why not! EF 1.0 had Jacquelyn (my poor namesake) and now it’s Jack!
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"November 17, 2017 at 10:27 pm #344636AKAParticipantIt is hard for me to separate out the two episodes when I watch them back to back. They also ran together rather well so that makes it even harder to remember what happened in each one. So in other words I am critiquing both together. All in all they were entertaining and we found out a lot 7.0/10
Liked:
Rumple trying to protect Hook from himself, I thought that was a great character moment for Rumple.
So Gothel was trapped by Rapunzel in the tower and then tricked Hook in bringing back the flower so she could make a one day baby (?) but I did like the fact that she was so incredibly evil that she was willing not to just abandon her child but to create her just so she could be free. I also really liked the fact that Hook decided to give up his revenge to be a daddy. Makes me want to like the guy.
I like the fact that I am not sure who is MORE evil, Victoria, Ivy, or Gothel. I have a feeling Gothel is manipulating everyone but for what reason I am not sure.
Mixed:
The scene between Rumple and Regina rubbed me the wrong way. I see what they were trying to do with the season 1 feels but it did not work. I also did not like the fact that Rumple actually denied knowing Belle as a Rumbelle fan that felt incredibly wrong. I loved the thought of Regina and Rumple teaming up, but nope we have Regina running to San Francisco to go get Zelena I would assume.
The Wonderland scenes were more about Jacinda than they were about Alice which was disappointing. I can’t seem to care about her character so i could care less about her family that is long gone and has nothing to do with the story
Alice being Hook’s daughter. Again they gave way too many hints and we knew it way too soon. A little mystery would have gone a long way. I also hate when the adult characters try and use the word “papa” it just comes off wrong no matter who you are.
Disliked:

GREAT QUESTION, this made no sense!
Instead of falling in love slowly over time, Henry and Ella have a necklace do the work for them! Geeeeeez, come on.
I also agree that OUAT is trying to shove Ella and Henry down our throats and now they are saying that they are true love because of some necklace. How about just developing their story slowly so we can actually try and like them.
November 18, 2017 at 12:26 am #344652StahlopParticipantI’m not sure how I feel about this episode. It’s a rea mixed bag for me. Although, this is the first episode where Dania Ramirez’s acting didn’t grate on me. Am I just getting used to her or could her acting be improving?
Liked:
No one wants to be a Kathryn.
Drizella and the mirror.
Wish Hook and Alice finding each other. I thought that would take a lot longer I’m glad that wasn’t dragged out.
Mixed:
So is Rumple really not awake or is he just toying with Regina? I can’t get any read on this.
‘Eloise’ is finally ‘freed’ and the first thing she does in the halfway house is dye her hair blonde?
I was liking Henry and Ella’s progression in their love story this week until the lockets dictated that they were apparently in love. Gag me.
Disliked:
If Jacinda willingly gave up custody of Lucy, why was she living with her in the first episode? Victoria does not seem the type to let Jacinda have temporary custody. And Lucy obviously had her own room there. This whole thing makes no sense!
Henry is going on a road trip with Roni who he barely knows? I know he’s starting to think of her as a mother figure, but that’s just weird.
I know I said previously that Drizella wouldn’t be patient enough to wait 10-12 years to cast her curse, but the rate that she is cultivating her magic is ridiculous. It’s been what, less than a week?
Nick is Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk. Ugh!

Thank you! I couldn’t figure out if we were supposed to know him some how.
November 18, 2017 at 2:01 am #344661GaultheriaParticipantIn the garage, when Sabine calls Henry “writer boy”, she slurs the word as if to say “Rider boy”. I suppose this means he’ll be breaking Jacinda out of the office tower at some point.

November 18, 2017 at 2:24 am #344662bellaroseParticipantI’m really enjoying this season. By the end of the episode I found myself being really invested in the mystery that only Regina and Rumple know the full story to, the mystery that Drusilla thinks she knows the full story to and how evil Gothel might be.
Liked
Roni not so subtly throwing Rogers cake into the bin. That was so funny, I thought she was going to pretend to accidentally knock it off the desk with her hand bag or something but no she just grabs it and slides it off the desk and onto the floor. No time for subtly here.
‘Oh that’s cute. You think I’m going to villain monologue for you? Please’
Roni and Henry are going on a road trip. How cute
mixed
The scene with Henry and Sabine just before nick and Jacinta show up. I don’t know why but it felt like Sabine was going to say “Jacinta may be my best friend but you are way to sweet for her” I don’t know what about the scene made it feel like that but it made the scene feel kind of off that she didn’t say it. Maybe I’m just projecting.
Disliked
Henry and Ella’s adventure in Wonderland. Honestly they didn’t even need to go to Wonderland. Ella could have caught up to Alice and noticed the mark and we could have found out that way.
Weaver not admitting that he is awake to Regina. Come on! Really? I thought you’d changed man! What does he gain by not opening up to Regina?

8/10
LOVE this season, despite Jacinda’s whininess.
Permission to gloat again?
I was one of the few people (possibly the only one?) who stuck to their theory that Hook’s daughter was Alice.
I was also right in my prediction that Regina would give Jacinda a job at the bar.
I was wrong about their being any connection between the rune and the tower though, which is a shame due to the Babyonian and ancient Greek mythology connecting important towers to 8 pointed stars.
The intro for ep 7 even showed us the 8 pointed star too, and then it didn’t show up for two episodes!!! I am still holding out that the rune, the 8 compass directions (Oz?) and the medal that held the ruby are all connected somehow.
Congrats to everyone who was adamant the Belfry was Rapunzel, and that witch was Mother Gothel. (I didn’t argue with this because I agreed with it but still…nice work!).
Also LOL wish!EQ. Had waiting to see her for a while!
Edit: just remembered this show’s second rape-by-deception (and this show’s third rape overall). Much as I love R and Z, the show should have dealt with these if they were going to redeem them. As such, I really hope that Gothel is not redeemed. Still, it did upset me that the writers went that down that route AGAIN.

November 18, 2017 at 8:46 am #344677hjbauParticipantI think the problem with the guessing was that i thought for sure that Victoria was Rapunzel and since, based on the pictures, it seemed that Hook and Rapunzel were going to have sex. That made it seem like their child was going to be the child that Hook was looking for. I just never assume that we are going to be Coraed. Though, it was more like when Zelena tricked Robin into having sex. I just assumed that it was actually going to be Rapunzel and that they were going to do this to then make this Hook actually related to the family, since Hook has never been related and has always been the outsider.
Though, i am actually glad that Hook is still the outsider who has no connection to the family just like the other Hook in Storybrooke has no connection to the family. That makes his stuff filler, but at least i can ignore it for the most part that way.
There were a lot of things about this episode that were a hot mess. The amulet that started glowing that now makes them true love’s. Give me a break. Drizella’s magic, like what is that. The heart issue that keeps people apart, like welcome random magical problem. The a pirate taught you to sword fight comment, just no. How about my dad and my grandpa taught me to sword fight way before the pirate did.
Drizella, Gothel, and Tremaine in the present day and Regina and Drizella, as well as, Regina telling off Rumpel in the present day were the best things about this episode.
The actual plot, plot, plot, no character development was not good. They could instead write Henry and Ella learning about one another, trusting one another, working together, doing good together, falling in love together. They did it with Snow and Charming in one episode, but they are failing to do it with Henry and Ella and it has been half the season.
