Maybe the 8th witch will be Robyn. How old would she be now? Maybe 15?
As @PantheMan says, maybe something to do with the directional witches in Oz. I am hoping that it is the 8th witch in the Mills family tree, but I don’t think the writers would do that, unfortunately.
However, either of these could be fun as far as I am concerned 🙂
Keeper of Regina's bravery
Maybe this episode will be a comedy with serious subtext. I can’t help thinking of Terry Pratchett when I see the number eight used in a magical context.

I have had another thought.
A few seasons ago we saw that Oz needed 4 different witches for 4 different directions. What if they now need the other four directions (NE, SE, NW, SW) and are looking for the 8th witch to complete the compass directions?
Also, could be just a coincidence, but did anyone else notice that the bearded-man’s tattoo (described as a rune?)Â and Tiana’s father’s medal both also have 8 points on them, like a compass?

With the news that a young, 22-year-old actress has been cast to play Robyn, I think you’re right that she is probably the 8th witch in question (though it remains unclear who the 7 other witches are).

I’m probably wrong, but my first thought was:
North, South, West, and East from one version of Oz
and
North, South, West, and East from another version of Oz.
In the books, Oz originally had four wicked witches. Then the GWN and Glinda conquered Mombi and the WWS, respectively (Mombi is known to have lived).
On OUaT, we see a GWE, and Dorothy was given a seat on the Witches’ council (West), so that’s something to consider. Mombi was mentioned (by title, not by name) in “Where Bluebirds Fly,” taking the narrative place of the WWE in the Tin Man’s origin story (and the Tin Man’s name was changed from Nick Chopper to Stanum).
