Honestly? I think the writers realized fairly early on that the Henry/Ella love story wasn’t shaping up to the epic true love story they wanted so they quickly inserted a necklace to prove true love, got them married off screen, and then poofed a baby into existence without any sort of real organic development. And I think they are going to be leaning heavily on Alice and Robyn because Henry and Ella fizzled out.

Not only did they realize, but they also had to be aware that fans just weren’t buying it. I think it really comes down to Dania Ramirez being horribly miscast in the role. A superior actress might have been able to save the character and her relationship with Henry. I also think she’s had less screentime in these recent episodes, and that could be in response to audience feedback. She’s too integral to the story now to just write out, so I guess they’re just keeping her more in the background till the show ends.

I think the Regina that never knew where Henry was would very much use Lucy to find something out. Facilier also seemed to know who Lucy was. He knows Zelena. Regina shouldn’t have done that, but it doesn’t seem out of character to me.

I definitely think that they just decided to stop writing for Henry and Ella, at least as much as they are able to. They had to immediately and completely make Ella the main character and they didn’t do that. The actor isn’t good enough and the storyline is not interesting. It is a problem of their own making and is why the new season doesn’t work. The show should have been cancelled years ago and nothing was going to save it from the loss of most of the cast.

I really wish they would have made Alice and Robyn the centre of this season. I feel like I would have connected WAY more with this season than i did with Henry and Ella.

I’m glad that they have greatly reduced screen time for Ella/Jacinda, but I suspect the more scenes they show us with Henry and Ivy, the less excited people are going to be about him getting back with Ella. They just have SO much more chemistry.
