-1 for the b-word -1 for the b-word again -1 because she’s making the b-word
I actually had to sit here and think through all possibly B-words…
is it belief? LOL

Probably not for one reason: the Wish Realm didn’t exist then. The WR might have history and backstory now but it did not pop into existence until Emma made her wish after her Dark Swan arc. So while the Wish characters have memories of experiences that make them real, any sort of event outside the WR that would have repercussions in the Wish Realm did not actually happen.
(and least this is what I’m telling myself)
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 12, 2018 at 10:23 am #347284bibliophileParticipantThis episode was all over the place, but it did hold my interest throughout with all the callbacks and of course the double Rumple/Wumple scenes.
LOVE
“I know it’s a bit cluttered; but it’s beach front property.”
“All I see is a cave where booze goes to perish.”
The Apprentice making fun of the wonky timeline.
Every scene with Robert Carlyle in it.
Wish Henry bringing up the cold blooded murder of his grandparents. Not to mention the assumed kidnapping of his mother. Again Wish Realm was a terrible idea on multiple levels!
MIXED
I enjoyed seeing pan, Ariel and Cruella again, but they were really useless for the most part. Ariel’s was the best even if it was the shortest, at least she had SQUID INK to share.
DISLIKED
Henry smashing Nook’s head in with the base of a candlestick – he should be dead or dying after a blow like that! When will Tv writers learn about how head trauma actually works?
The continually confusing family relationships – The writers have always had a problem with Henry being Rumple’s grandson and having two sets of them just ups the awkwardness. I really wish (my wish realm would be so much better then theirs) that they had invested more in the family aspect of the show and less in the ‘ships’.
Um did we just open with another ‘true love kiss’ between strangers or did unnamed knight know that sleeping beauty before the kiss just as Henry did only not as brotherly? Chalk down ‘true loves kiss’ as another aspect that Once overused/under explained over the years.

So maybe there has only ever been one Dark One in all the realms until Wish Realm somehow copied Rumple albeit giving him a different and somehow even sadder story? Maybe one of the stupid rules to stupid wish realm is that if the ‘real’ character dies then so does the wish version? So while Wish Charmings being murdered has zero affect on the real ones, if the real say Hook dies, then Nooky would be a goner too? Or if our Rumple gives up his power, then Wumple would loss his too.
Gee where have we heard that before? It’s Jekyl and Hyde all over again. Oh well whatever. At this point all I expect (And I do expect it!) is emotional closure. Logical closure and a coherent story really is just too much to hope for.

Yeah this is supremely complicated and weird. The writers are writing Wish Rumple as though he is full on crazy because he never got Belle back and never got Nealfire back which sure, that would make Rumple lose his mind and give into the darkness fully. The issue is that Nealfire somehow existed in the Wish Realm 18 years ago (somehow!) and lived long enough to meet Emma and create Wish Henry (and we have to assume it wasn’t just a wam-bam-thank you ma’am because when we were first introduced to the Wish Realm, they spoke of Neal in loving terms).
My limited understanding of the Wish Realm timeline is something like this
1) Rumple takes the dagger for a variety of reasons and Bae is a little boy.
2) Bae vanishes down a portal because of Rumple’s refusal to give up the Dagger; Wish Rumple swears he’ll find a way to get back to Bae and begins to come up with his Curse plan.
3) Lots of time passes and somehow the family defeats the Wish Evil Queen and Emma is never sent through the Wardrobe. Rumple is also captured and locked up in the castle jail.
4) Insert massive confusion here because somehow Nealfire stayed young enough to eventually come back to the Wish Realm, grow up a bit, meet Emma, presumably fall in love and conceive Henry. But…Wish Rumple and Neal never interacted?
5) Neal dies somehow
(side note: all of this is still more complicated because of what I wrote a response above…none of it actually happened until the Wish Realm was poofed into existence and even then the characters only have memories of these events. They could not actually have transpired)
I know it will come to no surprise to anyone but when all is said and done in a week, I’ll go down swearing that the single biggest mistake on this show was killing Neal. I don’t even care about the ‘ship aspect of it all (well, okay, maybe a little) but at every turn his lack of presence complicated the show beyond what was necessary because the writers keep having to deal with him and his existence in their universe as Henry’s father and Rumple’s son somehow. Their go-to solution is to straight up ignore Neal except when they realize they can’t do that (ie: Wish Henry needs a father) so they casually drop his name into the narrative and hope that’s enough except it never it because it never makes sense and leads to a ton more questions.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 12, 2018 at 10:55 am #347290bibliophileParticipantAgreed. The worst decision Once ever made was killing Baelfire. It ruined Rumple, Emma, and Henry’s stories/storylines and for what? Hook? Hook was a great villain and I’m sure they could’ve found stories for him even after Emma chose Neal. Better stories one hopes.
You know what the writers are right this show is ALL about hope. As in we always hope for the best and they don’t give it too us!

Beignet. Beignet, beignet, beignet.
That dragon was Lily, by the way. Don’t know who the couple were. Nice detail keeping Wish!Henry’s scar in the final scene.
Crazy idea? Why not take Wish!Rumpel’s Dagger, while he’s frozen? Also, get help from Pan! PAN! NEVER! FAILS!
Why is Wish!riel talking? Regina didn’t give her back her voice until Neverland. At least, we got to see her grotto. On a related not, how could Wish!Cruella even kill Henry?
Why is Mickey blind? At least, he’s meta.
Also, that Deception promo quoted Rumpel. Nice touch, ABC.
BEIGNET!
May 15, 2018 at 7:27 am #347336hjbauParticipantI thought this episode was pretty bad. Regina interacting with children is ridiculous. There is nothing that she could say that should make wish Henry be okay with her murdering his grandparents. Our Emma is actually this Henry’s mother and that is just awful to think of and the implications that she just left him like she left adult Henry.
The Regina/wish Henry stuff is going to continue into the next episode and just like how it was unrealistic when Emma and Henry wanting Regina around in Season 2, it will be even more terribly unrealistic that wish Henry will give Regina a chance. This is absolutely terrible writing and just a throw back to the first major writing error on this show when they let Regina be part of the group and Henry randomly started wanting to be around her even though she neglected and abused him for ten years.
All the random characters really had no point to them. The plot was all just random events. The Henry will be his undoing thing is just them trying to fix another major error. Them mocking the timeline is terrible especially because they continue to say in interviews that it makes sense when it does not. Instead of keeping track and writing a coherent narrative, they just make fun of the viewers for not understanding.
The writers just do not understand anything to do with how people really are and their characterization is just a complete mess.
I did not like this episode and was really reminded why i am ready for the show to be over.
