A couple of things that bother me about this episode:
*Even if he is sick and highly distracted, shouldn’t the sheriff do a wee bit more investigating when he comes upon the most feared man in town, alone in the forest in a leather apron and carrying a shovel? Especially when that shovel-carrying man gives such a lame explanation as “a bit of gardening”?
*And what gardener goes out to work in a tailored suit and tie? BTW, wouldn’t you just love to see Mr. Gold in, say, a pair of jeans and a Grateful Dead t-shirt just once?
*Why is everyone bent out of shape about a single mom having a tryst? Regina is trying to be discreet about it. On the other hand, where’s the EEOC when you need them? This is clearly a case of harrassment.
Finally: the lesson from this episode: don’t trust a spellslinger who calls you dear or dearie

I recently rewatched this episode and was struck by the same thing. I thought it was a measure of just how distracted Graham was, that he didn’t even ask a follow-up question to the entirely implausible explanation. I also thought it was testament to Gold’s ability to half-hypnotize people into not questioning what he is doing. Graham never seemed terribly intimidated by Gold (he had no call to be, I guess). But you’re absolutely right — Gold in the woods with a shovel is nearly as sinister as Gold at the hardware store on Valentine’s day buying rope and duct tape!

Didn’t so much as remove his jacket or loosen his tie. 😀 Did you also notice there was not a speck of dust on him? Not the boots, the sleeves, or the impeccably pressed apron.

I don’t think anybody else looked twice. Emma was just cheesed because she had the hots for the sheriff. (Can’t fault her taste!)

I really, really hope this revisited in another episode. I’m starting to think now that maybe Gold was digging up the Zoso dagger, but I don’t know, maybe he was looking for something else.
To be fair to Graham, what Gold was doing in the woods, wasn’t a top priority. He was trying to figure out what those weird dreams were about. 🙁 It’s just so sad once he figured it all out, it meant that he was going to die.

There’s no evidence she had magic before Snow ‘s father’s death; otherwise she wouldn’t have needed the genie. I hope season 2 brings us that story; it surely will reveal a lot about Regina’s relationships.

And I thought about the relation between the wolfes of the huntman and the clothes snow is wearing when she first met charming. It’s made of wolf, isn’t it? So there has to be a story how the wolfes help snow after her escaping the queen.
Sorry if it was already mentioned somewhere before. -
