As I wrote elsewhere, Maleficent is basically the only villain on the parent show who wasn’t somehow connected to the already twisted and heavy-ladened family tree.
Just you wait. Maleficent will turn out to be Henry’s third cousin from the left’s aunt’s brother’s wife’s uncle’s niece twice removed.

To be fair, most of the villains before the Snow Queen were tied directly to Regina or Rumple. Pan was Rumple’s father, Zelena was Regina’s sister. Therefore, Pan was Rumple’s villain and Zelena was Regina’s villain. Neither were directly connected to Emma, which the Snow Queen is. Because she played a part in Emma’s childhood.
That being said, it does feel a bit repetitive that Adam and Eddy are playing ‘I don’t feel loved’ card again. But it doesn’t surprise me either. This show is about family and it’s also about love too.
October 31, 2014 at 1:38 pm #288333ladyParticipantPlease most of our issues have family origins. Our family, especially our parent(or lack of thereof)is waht makes us the way we are in our adulthood . We may not be aware of this but that’s how it works. It’s nothing new. That’s basic human psychology. I’m not suprised at all nor am I bored with it.
She was probably seen and treated like a monster. She felt as though she was unloved and that’ was it.

I agree.

True, but all of those people were still tied indirectly to Henry and by extension Emma. Peter Pan was Henry’s great-grandfather. Zelena was Henry’s adoptive aunt through Regina. The only difference is that this time the villain has more of a direct connection to Emma. No matter how they’re related to Henry, his family tree just feels really crowded.

November 1, 2014 at 1:29 pm #288436FelieParticipantIs it possible that the DQ is trying to de-age Elsa and Emma, as well as wipe their memories and replace them with new ones (i.e. she’s their mother)? It could explain why Elsa and Emma are missing their memories of her – she could have tried it before, and failed. The mirror may be a way to ‘turn back the clock’ on them, age wise (the DQ did say that mirrors are a ‘temporary receptacle for some tiny fraction of our soul’, maybe she’s trying to get to those tiny fractions and release them. Perhaps some of the mirror fragments came from mirrors belonging to Emma and Elsa?).

Let’s Add On To The List!
Besides Great Grandpa Pan and Auntie Zelena in Season 3….
4A
If the Ice Queen Ingrid is Emma’s Foster Mother, and also the aunt of Elsa and Anna. That would make a very thin line to make Elsa and Anna, Emma and Henry’s cousins. And Ice Queen Ingrid is Foster Grandmother to Henry! #TheOtherGrandma!!!!
4B: I’ve got a feeling that this villain is coming from Snow White’s side of the family! Princess Ava’s evil brother! Time for the #EvilUncles to come out.

November 1, 2014 at 6:38 pm #288451FelieParticipantI can see Emma becoming hugely exasperated when it’s revealed that the Snow Queen just wants a family who loves her; “Ok Icy, listen carefully, because I am NOT going to say this twice – www-dot-Okcupid-dot-com. Or, you know… any bar in the country. Got it? Good.”
"so there’s this new show….."
