Questions from 1×11 – Fruit of the Poisonous Tree
1×11 – How did the genie lamp show up on shore for King Leopold find it?
1×11 – The contract for the land which Regina bought from Mr Gold for the town to build the new playground on, was signed “Mr Gold”, no first name. What is Mr. Gold’s cursed first name? 9/22/13 – Bobby revealed on twitter that he knows what it is, but he’s not telling.

Unanswered Question: WHY is this show so addictive 😛 must we all have an intervention?

The most popular theory is that Regina gave him he name of his father, Malcolm.
However, since in 309 it was shown that Regina basically knew nothing of Rumple’s father I don’t buy this one anymore. My three top guesses are: Damien, Lucian, and Adam
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"January 26, 2014 at 3:22 pm #240845once_dudeParticipantwhat is mr. gold’s first name? mr. “every moment i have been on this earth it’s been mr. gold” therefore he is the man with no first name. fitting him being rumpelstiltskin the man with an impossible first name to guess.
ok probably wrong there.
as to why the lamp was there: fate. the lamp had been left there or transported there from agraba and since the djinn cannot move the lamp it was just sitting there for however many years for leopold to find.
as to why is this show so addictive: one word Rumpelstiltskin. that is was and always will be what draws me to this television program. everyone else is very talented, but theres something magnetic about the dark one’s acting that drew me in from moment one. also they have the cute kid factor with henry (scratch that he is now a moody and rebellious teen they are not cute) also keep coming back for the name puns (which no longer exist “blanchard, no land, glass, gold, hopper, ruby, whale (not a name pun sadly, but a cool name drop nod to his movie version) jefferson, (from jefferson airplane) but yes those two reasons.
Magic always comes with a price, so I pay with visa.

I didn’t want to make a whole thread in case this has been addressed in another thread, but- why did Baelfire go back to EF with everyone else? If what Regina did at the end of the episode was to “unmake” the curse, that had nothing to do with why Bae was there at all. He arrived via the magic bean, right? On top of that, it’s not as though he has anyone he’s super close to waiting for him back there (to his knowledge, anyway). In the non-magical world, he at least has friends with the Darlings, or could perhaps try to have a fresh, non-magical start with Emma. (Presumably, she still remembers him as the father of her child.) Was this just a noble sacrifice? Or will Storybrooke just vanish, leaving Bae standing in an empty field on his own? XD

Undoing the curse will transport everyone who wasn’t born in that land back to wherever they came from. Bae wasn’t effected by the first curse, but he was still born in the EF. Therefore, he goes back too.

There’s no logical reason for something that predates the curse to be affected by the curse or its undoing. Yes, here I am trying to apply logic to magic. Haha.

January 29, 2014 at 3:47 pm #241460myrnaParticipantYes, it would have made more sense to me if Neal and Pinoccio, who got to LWM before the curse, didn’t have to return to the EF.
Another unanswered question: What happened to the Mad Hatter’s wife?
January 29, 2014 at 4:27 pm #241464kfchimeraParticipantJefferson lost Grace’s mother. That’s all we know, not that they were married, not that she died–he lost her mother. So who knows?
As I understood it, everyone goes back where they came from originally except Henry who was not just born, but conceived in the Land Without Magic. So Ashley’s baby goes back. We can also conclude no one got busy and pregnant and delivered in a year that time moved forward in SB–or SB counted as some king of magical annex for EF. Anyway, Emma is the other exception as the Savior in the curse, it doesn’t affect her. That’s what they said, logical or not.
Lonebamf: Yup silly as it is we all keep trying to put logic on something inherently illogical. Yet even for magic we feel there must be rules of some sort or it just takes too much suspension of disbelief. I agree, Neal should have been left behind too but it didn’t work for the plot they wanted to do whatever it is. Bet we’ll never hear about the Darlings again too. “Oh off you go chaps, to a modern London nothing like the one you remember, don’t spare a thought about where the boy you spent 300 years trying to save is going, so anyway good luck with that!”.
“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass
January 29, 2014 at 6:10 pm #241470CindersParticipantSo, what are the rules of magic anyway?
Magic can’t make someone love you.
Magic can’t bring someone back from the dead.
