Does Rumpel sleep? For some reason, I vaguely remember Rumpel saying he didn’t sleep…. But I could be thinking of Twilight? O.O
I don’t know. I’ve re-watched/re-studied up through 2×14 so far in the past 2 months and don’t remember hearing that. It’s possible that I may have missed something though. It’s quite possible he may not have slept after becoming the Dark One while in FTL, but while in SB I bet he does sleep since he’s more human. Could be how he accomplished so much while in FTL, course being alive for around 300 years helps too.
Edit: In 2×4, there is the scene where Belle wakes up and looks over to her right which makes us believe that Rumple was in bed with her earlier before sneaking to the basement to work on magic. Sleeping in that cage Zelena had him in in both worlds couldn’t have been too comfortable. Maybe sleep deprivation caused some of his craziness. Just a thought.
We see Rumple waking up from a nightmare in Lacey. Rumple might go a day or two without sleep then sleep. In the Outsider through to Tiny, he seems to be awake throughout the duration (Pushing Smee over the line, telling Belle he’s found a way to leave town safely, coming to Belle’s rescue in the library, returning to the shop to find the shawl gone, Savin Belle and beating up Hook on the JR, taking Belle to the town line, going to the hospital after Belle got shot, getting the globe from Cora, turning up at the Charmings’ to threaten them and enlist Emma on the journey to Manhattan. We then see him turn up next morning to collect Emma). Rumple was awake at least 24 hours without sleep. He may have had a quick sleep between telling Emma she’s going to Manhattan and collecting Emma to go to Manhattan.

How old is Neal? (This has been bothering me for awhile because he would have had to come back to our world after the curse hit, for him to be younger than 31 when he met Emma who was like 17.)
We know Wendy was Pan’s prisoner for “over a century”. With the information we have so far, I’ve calculated Rumple’s age as between 150- 200 years old max but he can’t be much more than 200 at most. So Neal is probably between 115 and 150 years old depending on Rumple’s age.
How did Neal get back?
It’s implied he hitched a ride on the shadow.
Henry has said “I believe” at least once in the first two seasons, why didn’t the shadow come pick him up then?
Because the shadow hadn’t been thought of at that point? However, it’s possible that Storybrooke was protected somehow (probably by the curse and whatever magic it was that prevented people from crossing the town line) since Pan had to send GOAT to Storybrooke to retrieve Henry rather than sending the shadow.
What land is Hook originally from?
It seems Hook is from the EF.
How old is Hook?
Again depending on Rumple’s age Hook is likely between 235 and 280 years old. Hook was definitely younger than Milah.
What happened to Tiny and why hasn’t he been in on the need of multiple portals in Season 3?
The dwarves dumped him the moment Sneezy got his memories back. That’s my theory since they were quite happy to replace Sneezy when he was memoryless.
Where is Mulan right now?(I know they just couldn’t get the actress but they need some explanation in the first couple of episodes in season 4 because Robin Hood and Aurora were both at that dinner and it would be weird if neither of them mentioned their common friend Mulan who just wasn’t there)
I presume Mulan is in Storybrooke as well. She may have been one of the flying monkeys like Aurora, or she may have been one of the flying monkeys that were shot.
Why didn’t someone with magic try to make another hat portal?
They were busy? It seems like Rumple and Regina are the only two magic users in town aside from Blue Fairy.
Why didn’t Blue Fairy just use to ashes of the hat to make a portal, I mean Cora used the ashes of the wardrobe, similar principle?
Because Blue Fairy is a convenient plot device? There’s a lot Blue Fairy can’t do despite being the “original power”.
How long was Belle in Regina’s jail, based on Roland’s age in must have been around for years?
Roland would’ve aged AFTER the curse broke. Marian was heavily pregnant in Belle’s few days at the castle. Belle said she was with Rumple a “few months” (during which Snow Falls occurs). Belle met Dreamy at the tavern then went on the yaoguai adventure. Snow also had a pregnancy during that time plus taking back the kingdom and marrying Charming. I would say Belle was Regina’s prisoner for at least 2-3 years before the curse.
Finally how old is Snow?
I think she’s not that much younger than Regina, maybe 6- 8 years younger?

I think the reason for this is that Jefferson isn’t there. He seemed to believe Emma could create a magic portal hat, so I’m gonna assume it IS possible. She was able to create a mirror that could look across lands so I think it’s possible.

Rumps castle is FILLED with all sorts of magical items. My guess is its something he just acquired through the centuries again, or he probably MADE it specifically for Cora.
Good idea about Rumple possibly making the spell book. You’d think he would have written down some of his spells at some point in order to teach his willing pupils.
What does Rumple mean when he says that him & Regina are back where they belong, together
Well Cora tricked Rump out of her giving him Regina. So in his mind, Regina should be his since that was his and Cora’s original deal.
True, maybe that’s all it means. Wishful thinking on wanting Regina to be his daughter, yet he keeps wanting to kill her or have others kill her. I just rewatched 2×17 where he basically said that the only way to stop Regina from killing Snow was by killing her, bloodfeud.
What would Jefferson loose if he crossed the town line since he doesn’t have false memories?
Hard question. I like to think Jeff wasn’t cursed with anything other than youth. He COULD leave the town at any time. But he WOULDNT because he loved his daughter and would never leave her. Unlike everyone else, he has the freedom to escape the town and Regina but the one thing that holds him back is his daughter. So IF he does leave, he loses his daughter and probably wont be able to get back in the town. Even if he leaves and goes into the rest of the world for help, they won’t be able to see SB or get into it so he loses whether he stays or leaves.
Good point. It’s not becuase he couldn’t leave. It’s because he wouldn’t want to leave, giving up being with his daughter before and after magic came to SB.

Why wasn’t Zelena affected by the curse?
I like Watcher’s idea, using her broom. She was in OZ being oh so jealous of Dorothy during the original curse but when it broke maybe she flew to EF to seek her revenge on Regina. If she figured out how to time travel, why not portal jumping.
How did Cora not know about her other daughter becoming evil or just being alive?
Like Watcher said, Cora did know. I wonder if she didn’t know that Zelena was alive and well in EF, until after she was banished to WL though. Based on that letter I wonder if Rumple kept in touch with her, possibly through a mirror. Cora seemed to know a lot about the curse happening when Hook showed up to kill her.
Did Dorothy go home?
Yes, with the silver slippers, but I wonder what her story is after that. In Return to OZ, she lost the slippers on the way to Kansas. I wonder if that happened (maybe that’s how Zelena got to EF). Or if Dorothy still has them – a bit of magic in the Land Without Magic. Is she still alive? I hope Adam & Eddy explore her story after returning to Kansas someday.
What happened to the Wizard after Zelena died? How did Walsh get to Emma?
My guess is Walsh turned human again, hopped on a hot air balloon, and traveled out of OZ like at in the book. Like I mentioned above, I think Zelena learned how to portal jump or she could have known where a stash of magic beans are.
How did Hook find Emma in New York?
I’ve given this question quite a bit of thought in past 7 months. My guess that since he had Neal’s address and found Neal’s apartment before, he started there. (I bet he broke in & stayed there too.). I bet it was part of Regina’s gift to Emma to live in New York, close to Neal’s apt in order for one of them to find her & Henry someday. Since Hook pointed out Emma’s car in the winter finale, I think he walked the streets looking for it till he found it and then found their apt. He’s good at finding buried treasure he says, so why not a bright yellow car in a huge city. Good thing Emma didn’t sell it. 🙂
Where is Mulan right now?
I agree with POM. I bet Mulan is in SB. She became one of the flying monkeys, therefore wasn’t seen during 3B. Since Aurora & Phillip are now in SB, it would be sad if Mulan was in EF by herself on some mission in EF, with out her new friends.

I think because it’s a unique magical item that can’t be recreated, or else Rumple would have figured out how to make one vs relying on Jefferson to do his portal jumping, searching for something to send him to our world.

Same thing. The hat was unique, maybe there wouldn’t be enough ashes to make portal or like the wardrobe ashes, you need a magic compass to help guide you to another world. Plus Blue is sneeky. It seems like if the magic is questionable, she wants no part in it. Only pure good magic will she do. I bet portal jumping is questionable becuase of what happened to the Giants – the humans using the portal beans for evil.

I’m basing my estimation of Rumple’s age around the fact that Bae met Wendy 6 months after he fell through the portal and that John said Wendy had been Pan’s prisoner for “over a century”. Rumple was human before he became the dark one so aged normally and the portal incident didn’t seem to happen too long after it perhaps a few months to a year max enough for Bae to think Rumple had changed for the worst. The “over a century” line seems to include the 30 years curse time and if that was nearer 200, Jon would’ve said “nearly two centuries”. So at the very least 100 years plus Rumple’s pre-dark one age (which, depending on how old he was when Bae was born, put him at least in his late 40s to early 50s) means Rumple is at least 150 years old, if not over since John said OVER a century. Rumple’s probably about 180 years old.

Answer: According to 2×18, Regina said that same thing about Greg when meeting him at Granny’s diner. Apparently she can recognize people she met as children who she now re-meets as adults. In 3×21, we saw Pinocchio (in wooden form) with Gheppeto when Regina took Marian away so she had met August at least once as a child.

A&E implied he might still be alive, however, we’ve not seen Lancelot since so he may very well be dead.
2×3 – How & why did Cora posse as Lancelot?
Cora is able to shapeshift, that’s how she posed as Lancelot. As for why, she needed to move around undiscovered. The real question is how long was she posing as Lancelot?
2×3 – How did Lancelot fall from grace from King Arthur’s Round Table and became a “sword for hire” because of a girl? Was it Guinevere?
Most likely.
2×3 – King George, how did he lose his kingdom to Snow and Charming? Where did he go after that before the curse?
Snowing took it in battle, we saw it at the beginning of the Cricket Game. We know Charming didn’t kill George when he “had the chance” George said so in Child of the Moon. It’s possible George was either banished or kept as a prisoner in the dungeon.
2×3 – Where did King George get the potion to make Snow barren since it wouldn’t have come from Rumple?
It could’ve been the same potion that made his wife barren. He could’ve got it from Regina, though she seems to be the kind of person who wouldn’t let someone else harm Snowing because she wanted to do it herself. There’s plenty of other magical beings in the EF that George could’ve got it from them.
2×3 – How did King George’s wife die? Was it before or after he adopted James?
I think it was implied that George’s wife may have committed suicide.
2×3 – Ruth got the necklace from her mom. Where did Ruth’s true love ring come from that Charming gave to Snow? The same gypsy as her necklace? Who was the gypsy?
The gypsy could’ve been a random gypsy or it could’ve been Esmerelda. The ring probably came from the same place as the necklace since they both had magical properties.

It is believed that the cup Rumple has and replaced with the chipped cup is the holy grail.

I think in the commentary for Skin Deep, even Robert thought it could be Holy Grail. Can’t wait for the story behind that cup. 🙂
