Well who do you guys think will be Mulans True Love then? I can’t think of another Disney character who could fit? Maybe Merida? She is the one the Disney princesses who doesn’t get a prince at the end of her movie
I have a head canon that Shang is a girl in the ONCEiverse. And they will meet somehow.

I think it can be assumed he was just vanished somewhere. We know he is okay because he ended up in Storybrooke.
What did he want with Cinderella’s child anyway?
He needed to be locked up.

December 3, 2013 at 5:07 am #227697PheeParticipantI think the way they handled SleepingWarrior was GREAT and heartbreaking but if that’s the *only* LGBT character or storyline they plan on introducing, then it feels like “we needed to have an LBGT storyline so we’ll do this cause we’re writing Mulan off anyway.” I’d rather have an LGBT storyline that is played out in front of me. It doesn’t have to be a long epic story like Snowing or Rumbelle, but more than just a five min scene at the end of an episode between two characters who won’t be around to develop it.
Agreed. And given that Jamie won’t be indefinitely available, I dunno that they’ll have the opportunity to explore a love story for her, even if they wanted to. So I hope they have another LGBT character. Someone who is at least a semi-regular character, who is integral to the main storyline so it won’t feel like they’re just there purely for the sake of filling the LGBT character obligation.
I think Archie would be a good candidate, because his character status is such that he could be believably included in a future main plot of the show, where he has a valuable role to contribute, and along the way, they could show him finding love. He’s one of those characters who the whole fandom loves, and so everyone would like to see him getting some romance in his life.
Would it be too cliche to make an Oz character, (ie: a “friend of Dorothy”), a gay man? Tin Man, Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion could all potentially need some guidance from someone like Archie, which could potentially lead to more.
December 3, 2013 at 7:28 am #227707TheWatcherParticipantHmmm well the Tin Man always sort of gave mr that impression. If so, maybe the Wicked Witch (of the east) stole his heart so that he could not love his significant other. Without his heart, the tin man lost all sense of right and wrong like Cora. If Archie is the other gay character, then he could help him find his conscious 🙂

I don’t think it’s anymore cliche than having Archie be gay since he sorta fits the mold of the “token gay character.” If anyone was gonna turn out to be gay, and they were stereotyping, then it’d be the sweet sensitive bachelor.
I want ONCE to subvert that trope though. I’d love for some big strong he-man to be the gay character. Like if they ever did Hercules, instead of having women fawn over him, his true love could be his trainer Phil (take out the half human/half goat thing).

1×6 – Did Rumple give Midas the curse to turn stuff into gold? Is he in SB?
1×6 – Why did King George & his queen need Rumple to get James? Couldn’t he just gotten an orphan? Was it because it needed to be fast & discreet? Or needed magic to make sure the parents could’t tell?
1×6 – Who is King George’s wife? how did she become barren by a curse? Was it a debt she accepted to “pay” or was she tricked like Snow was?
1×6 – How did Rumple know the fact that Ruth & her husband had twins? Why was James chosen over David? Did Rumple chose him or did Ruth & her husband have to decide which one Rumple could take?

December 10, 2013 at 10:22 pm #229516RumplesGirlKeymaster1×6 – Did Rumple give Midas the curse to turn stuff into gold? Is he in SB?
Unknown. My theory is that yes Rumple probably did. Most likely in SB
1×6 – Why did King George & his queen need Rumple to get James? Couldn’t he just gotten an orphan? Was it because it needed to be fast & discreet? Or needed magic to make sure the parents could’t tell?
I think Rumple approached them. He knew what would happen with James which lead to Charming. He couldn’t risk them getting another son.
1×6 – Who is King George’s wife? how did she become barren by a curse? Was it a debt she accepted to “pay” or was she tricked like Snow was?
I’ve always thought Cora cursed KG’s wife. No idea who she was though
1×6 – How did Rumple know the fact that Ruth & her husband had twins? Why was James chosen over David? Did Rumple chose him or did Ruth & her husband have to decide which one Rumple could take?
Because Rumple can see the future, at least bits and pieces of it. As to the next part: Snow does say that even if Charming had grown up with KG, he’s wouldn’t have become James because of his heart. So likely Rumple saw something in Charming that made him pick James
1×7 – Where is the whistle that the huntsman gave Snow?
No idea but I WANT TO KNOW
1×7 – Who would come to Snow’s aid when she uses the whistle?
I’ve always thought it would be the wolf.

I kind of agree with that. They want to avoid being insensitive so if they do it, they need to really put the same care they put into other stories, but of course there’s a range as you go from 2 episode relationships like Ariel/Eric to something that played out a little bit more like Aurora/Mulan/Phillip. I did like the idea of the Tin Man though since we are going to Oz and the whole thing is he doesn’t have a heart and it would just fit from there. If it is with Archie though, the Tin Man has to have Perdita….
