I just keep thinking about the movie Groundhogs Day, where he wakes up to relive each day over and over again. I know this wasn’t possible during those years, otherwise Henry wouldn’t have learned anything in school, because he would have had the same lesson every day. I wonder though if he continued to grow up while all the other kids never changed grades? That would be a dead give away that something wasn’t normal. I’m not sure how the writers thought that through, or if they did.
Anyway, that 28 year fog had to b something that kept everyone where they were in life and never moving forward, yet they had miner’s day every year, or were those memories just implanted? But then, how would that work for Henry? I can’t reconcile those two ideas in my head. Any one else?
I was thinking about that too. Maybe every time Henry passed a grade, the curse erased from his mind the old class students faces and then made him believe that the new faces were actually “old faces”. And then everyone else’s mind just resets. Also Regina knew about the curse, so she must have made sure that things that could give the curse away to Henry were kept secret (like Cinderella’s 28 year old pregnacy! 😯 )
Henry definitely didn’t know about Ashley until Emma showed up because when Emma discusses Ashley in Price of Gold, Henry’s response and input is as if it is new information to him.
Also, Henry doesn’t seem to have many close school friends, which has been referred to several times over the course of the show. He certainly had acquaintances but not friends that he hangs out with or has playdates with. When he was younger, he likely just didn’t notice other kids stayed the same age. Now that he is older, he has started to notice and question it, especially since he got the storybook.
I actually think that Henry did notice that no one was changing around him. I think that is why he didn’t have any friends in school because he was the only one to switch grades. Henry probably had just never met Cinderella, so that is why he didn’t know about her perpetual pregnancy.
I always sort of see it as things effect what is happening like the people who are not in a haze. So Regina would effect things in town and Henry would once he came. And maybe that they are more on a ground hogs day year where the year sort of repeats itself, but there would still be some differences because of Regina and Henry.
