Was that a new door in Henry’s book with an engraving of the hat on it? Is there a land just for the author? What land might it be (Disneyland?!)

I doubt we’ll see Jefferson again, (Seb Stan is a bit beyond this show these days), but thanks for that side by side to confirm that the door IS from inside the Hat.
The interesting thing for me is that August wrote, “Author?” with a question mark, so even he, who knew about the Book, and knew how to add to it, seemingly didn’t actually know where it had come from.

Oh I don’t know, if we can get Director Fury in Agents of Shield we may be able to get Sebastian to make a re-appearance. (wishful thinking maybe, but hey) lol Anyways yeah, That sticky note was very curious. like you said he obviously didn’t know where it came from but he obviously knew something about the Author. The fact that he noted that door as a possible gateway to him makes me wonder just how much digging he had done…
Strange how the author might exist in a seperate world/dimension.
Does anyone know what the door to our world looks like? Is it this one or a different one?

We didn’t have a door to our world in Season one because our world was a “Land without Magic” and the hat could only take you to magical worlds. Hence why Rumple couldn’t use the hat to come to find Bae.

Jefferson: Oh. Couldn’t find ’em. Heard talk they’d already been moved to another land.

Rumplestiltskin: No, no. Your hat only transports between magical realms. I need to get to a land without magic.

Remember these official photos for 1×17 Hat Trick? They were of August and Jefferson, and they seemed to know one another! Unfortunately, this scene was cut from the actual episode, and neither was it on the S1 DVD.
How did Jefferson and August know each other? Since Jefferson had his memories during the curse, he could’ve told August in S1 something about his travels in the hat, and perhaps something about the door which leads to the Author. August may have been on the trail of the author himself, or may have even known him. Where else did August learn his book-binding skills?

True, but it would not be past Adam and Eddy to retcon this. They could say that sorcerer (or author) has the power to decide which lands are accessible via Jefferson’s hat and which are not, and has the the power to randomly produce portals to our world, just like the one the Snow Queen used, and the one that Elsa and Anna used. It follows that this door could just appear or disappear inside the hat whenever the sorcerer requires it, and this door could lead to our world. Meanwhile, Jefferson is not aware of that because whenever he was in the hat, the door just happened to be absent or simply hidden from him. Moreover, the sorcerer might like to move from world to world, magical and non-magical, and he could be currently in ours.
Due to retcons (and not all of them are sensible) no idea from we fans is too silly at this point.

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"I should note that Paige’s bicycle is seen in filming photos for episode 418, so Jefferson might somehow be involved with this. However, I expect they’ll explore this in a way that doesn’t require Sebastian Stan returning to shoot new footage. It would be cool if its possible to re-work that deleted scene between August and Jefferson from “Hat Trick” as a flashback, if it somehow relates to the Author, as that actually would be a way of technically getting Jefferson back for at least one scene.
