There actually is a Once convention in the works in Tampa, Florida called Enchantacon. A few actors are already confirmed as guests:

I would be all for other Once conventions, though, especially near where they actually film.
Does anybody else remember the infamous “Con of Wrath” from 1982? It’s a perfect example of the things that can go wrong with a con and how important it is to have good planning. It was such a debacle that people still talk about how bad it was and someone is even making a movie about it, which is described at

Long ago, as a college student, I worked as a volunteer on a much smaller student-run SF con on campus. I was just a grunt so I don’t know much about the high level planning but I know they had the advantage of having access to campus facilities for meeting rooms and theaters, which were available to student groups at much less than the cost of commercial facilities, and they had something like $10,000 or so of up-front cash (this is in 1970’s dollars ) from university student activity fees to cover pre-convention costs before tickets went on sale. The con was a great experience and I enjoyed working on it for four years but I think they lost money every year, although they came close to breaking even in the later years.
I’m not trying to be discouraging, just offering a warning as Schmacky said that there are a lot of pitfalls that have to be planned for in advance. Personally, I would love to see a OUAT con and I would try to find the money to attend. But I also try to remember what Regina said in the pilot: “What he needs is a dose of reality.”
It would be a huge job, but would be awesome if you could pull it off.
In another fandom of mine, years ago, a fan organised a convention, and they had a really good turn out, (including a few people who flew internationally to go) and they had a couple of the actors there and everything. So it was a great success, but rumour had it that the girl who organised it ended up out of pocket by a significant amount.

Thanks for posting the OUAT Convention Link. A OUAT Convention is a great idea, can’t wait to meet some of my fav Characters/Actors. Looks like it’s this November in Orlando, Florida. I know how much work goes in to holding a Convention & well, I just Can’t Wait!!!!
I think this is a great idea! I was apart of a group attempting to make a convention too! It hasn’t been done yet, but we’ve got pretty far in the process. I know quite a bit about convention-planning, so I’d be happy to help. Let’s get this idea out there!
