We officially met Aladdin and Jafar tonight! We know Aladdin is a Savior but is facing the Savior’s Curse. How did Aladdin become a Savior? Where is Jasmine? What kind of history do Aladdin Jafar have? Where does this fit in Jafar’s own history with regards to Wonderland?

    1) I think Aladdin became a Savior by virtue of deed and not with any sort of blood, true love connection unlike Emma. His magic is not natural like Emma’s but learned, like Regina’s. Maybe we’ll learn that there are different types of Saviors–everyday ones and mythical ones

    2) Jasmine is in the Land of Untold Stories–now in SB. I have no idea why

    3) The writers will pretend that Jafar was never in WL.

I suspect it’ll get vaguely referenced and nothing more.

I think Al is/was in untold story land. To protect Jasmine from whatever is occurring to him. I think when Regina’s curse was casted, she was in agrahbah and got taken to SB.

I disagree. if they go for a movie connection, I think Aladdin is still the Diamond In The Rough which might be something magically significant. Like with Emma being the savior, its something he was born as. Just as Emma freed SB from the evil sorceress queen Regina, Aladdin freed Agrabah possibly from evil sorcerer king Jafar who is the son of the sultan in this canon and possibly took his throne.

How did Aladdin become a Savior?

That’s what happens to thieves on OUAT. And then they die.

    Where is Jasmine?

Stuck in a lamp. Aladdin probably dreams of her.

What kind of history do Aladdin Jafar have?

    Family history.

Where does this fit in Jafar’s own history with regards to Wonderland?

OUATIW takes place in the original timeline, before Emma and Hook changed history.

The idea of Aladdin being a SAVIOR,, in this case as a diamond in the rough, is a good concept and there aren’t really any other Disney characters that haven’t been see already that could work for this plotline. Additional flashbacks to him dealing with the increasing symptoms of his impending doom could be a great way to contrast Emma’s fate.

That… is a possibility for the two plotline coexisting as canon that could actually work by some insane stretching, at least for Will but it doesn’t really help for Jafar with the time difference. It is possible that this episodes Jafar is a different man, maybe even a distant maternal ancestor of OUATIW’s Jafar. i hope it is this way because between Will’s pointless appearance and this OUATIW may as well be a dream sequence.

Adam has confirmed on Twitter quite a few times that it’s the same Jafar.

    Family history.

What sort of family history? Father/son or nephew/uncle?

    3) The writers will pretend that Jafar was never in WL.

And watch the same happen in 603 with Anastasia and Lady Tremaine.
