Apparently, ABC accidentally mentioned this in their recap for last night’s episode:
The race is on to find the runaway author before Mr. Gold does. Too late. Gold gets there first. He tells the Author that he is going to write him a whole bunch of happy endings. As for Regina, she steals Belle’s heart. She believes the Evil Queen needs to do what she does best in order to save the people she loves.
I think ABC might have removed it, because I can’t find the original post with it.

It takes all of Regina’s character development and just squashes it because her wants and needs and loves are more important than someone else’s and once again an innocent women has to pay the price for it!!

Now, let’s all think about this okay….Regina wouldn’t kill Belle because she knows her son would not want her to kill his step grandma. I think it’s more for show, just to make Rumple believe she’d be willing to kill Belle.
Why oh why did Rumple have to threaten Regina’s soul mate???? And give her an ultimatum….we all know how much Regina hates ultimatums!

Way harsh. Does make sense with the Evil Queen dream sequence. But…no.
Also, does anyone else feel like this is a really easy way for the writers to place Belle on the sidelines for awhile? Regina takes her heart and..I don’t know…put her to sleep or tells her to go hide in the shop until she gives Belle back her heart (sometime around episode 20…?)
