Daniel and I doing a podcast this Wednesday, reviewing the entire season!
So for anyone who wants their opinion heard, answer what you want:
–Favorite moments?
–Favorite Songs?
–Overall impression?
–Theories on S3 if we get it?
[adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"February 8, 2016 at 7:23 pm #316285MatthewPaulModerator–Favorite moments:
1) Richard killing Wormwood for what he did to Tad Cooper. “You may have killed one dragon, but you’ve awoken another!”
2) The whole “A New Season” opening number, which I get into more detail with below.
3) Galabella’s wedding. So sweet to finally see them tie the knot, and with a wedding done by the Monks!
4) Izzy revealing her amulet, and explaining how she’s apparently worn it every day, with Chef pointing out that it was never seen last Season. Loved how this was a jab at when other shows do this sort of retcony stuff *coughOUATcough*. Also loved when Chef goes “You never handed me the *bleep* amulet!”
5) Tad Cooper being revealed as a real dragon. Richard was totally vindicated, as were all of us Tad Cooper believers!–Favorite Songs:
1)”A New Season”: Brilliantly huge spectacle number to open up the Season, gives all characters a chance to shine, and takes fun in how the show got a surprise renewal despite the low ratings last Season.
2) “Off With His Shirt”: Kylie Minogue knocks this song out of the park. It reminds me of the song “It’s Raining Men”, and has a really catchy beat.
3) “Serenade AKA Maybe You Won’t Die Alone”: Hilarious twist on “Kiss the Girl”, and beginning seeds of the Richerta relationship.
4) “What Am I Feeling”: An absolutely beautiful song. It’s not comedic, but rather focuses on a more emotional side to Madalena’s character.
5) “My Dragon Pal and Me”: I super believe in Tad Cooper! How can you not love Timothy Omundson singing about his pet dragon? It’s a very uplifting number.
6) “Galavant Recap”: What a joy it was to see the original Galavant theme return, and sung brilliantly again by the one and only Jester! Ben Presley sure did a stellar job with this performance, and what a great way to open episode 209!.Honorable mentions: “Let’s Agree to Disagree”, “Dwarves Vs. Giants”, “Today We Rise”, “Goodbye”, “I Don’t Like You”, “A Dark Season”, “Do the D’DEW”, and “Season 2 Finale.”
Overall impression: Amazing Season from beginning to end. Just like Season 1, King Richard is the best part, and with such a great character arc. We saw him evolve from a foppish virgin tyrant to the One True King to Unite Them All. I even loved his relationship with Roberta, as it was about time that Richard found his soul mate! Also loved Galavant, Izzy, Sid, Madalena, Gareth, and everyone else! I even enjoyed Wormwood, who was a fun new villain to spice things up. A fun twist with Wormwood was that he was still totally committed as a wedding planner, to the point where he even gave a few tips right before he dropped dead. Overall, this show is a whole lot of fun, and I would absolutely loved a 3rd Season!
–Theories on S3 if we get it: Somebody came up with the hilarious theory that the DEL is actually Weird Al Yankovic’s Monk character, because he was laughing maniacally leading into that scene. Now I can’t get that idea out of my head. Maybe the Monk secretly wants to settle the score with Izzy, because she forced him to break his vow of singing!

Al could work, but I’m hoping for Tim “Use the accessory wall wisely” Gunn.

The Enchanted Forrest Gay Bar
Richard trading Izzy’s Jewel for Tad Cooper (I’m sorry to say I didn’t always believe in you, there were times when I thought you were just a lizard but I’m glad I was wrong)
The Jester finishes singing the Galavant recap song, looks around, realizes that he is in the middle of a battle field and everyone starts applauding.
Izzy’s Amulet and her conversation with Galavant, I was court between being in a fit of giggles and feeling really sorry for Izzy.
Izzy giving the Amulet to Chef, having a musical, going to sleep and forgetting to give the Amulet to Chef.
Richard racing to get to Roberta, I cried during his speech.
Gareth and Madelana – I don’t know if I want Garreth to save Madalana from herself or if I want her to keep becoming more and more powerful.
Favorite Songs:
Off with his shirt – This song is always stuck in my head
My Dragon Pal and Me
Goodbye – I really did not expect a sing a long with Death, I didn’t expect that. I thought they would just find away to save Galavant before he died.
I don’t Like You
Overall Reactions:
I liked how during the first season it was about Galavant trying to become the hero he used to be and the second season was about King Richard finding his strength and becoming a hero. They even had there own song about it Galavant: This is my moment in the Sun, and Richards song with his inner child.
Season three theory:
Adding on to my overall reaction, I think season three will be about Sid having a hero moment and becoming the person his family think he is. Maybe even getting to finish a song.
Good always wins < That's just what Rumplestiltskin wants you to think Keeper of Belle's Theme Music, The Queen of Hearts Maze, Cora's Missing Heart,Tiny's Golden Harp

Huh, his replacement is Merrin’s sister.

February 18, 2016 at 11:37 pm #317177kranenParticipantSo this most likely means nothing but I thought that I’d mention it anyway. I agree that Galavant is gone.
Merrin made a Facebook post yesterday saying how proud she was of Channing. I made a comment congratulating her and saying that I hope she’s kind to my shows (specifically OuaT). Channing saw and ‘liked’ that comment which I assumed was because I congratulated her.
Then someone replied to my comment saying ‘And Galavant’. Nothing else. Channing ‘liked’ that comment as well.

Yeah, that was me who replied. I didn’t bring it up, since I didn’t want to jinx, but since you brought it up anyway, I might as well say this makes me very optimistic for season 3.
