Yes, I watch Revenge but I never watch it live because our Podcast is more important (and at time less frustrating)
I can’t see them ever giving up a two season finale. They’d either push Revenge (where it would be slaughtered by cable, most likely) or not air Revenge at all, but a repeat of it. Hmmmm. 24 episodes would interesting.

Looks the cast is going to remain the same for now! Colin was added as a regular after the midseason, so the same could happen for MRJ
But didn’t both Meghan and Emily get upgraded to regulars last June, weeks after the upfront?

Just found the source for ABC saying how they will schedule Once this Season. It was stated by Paul Lee, the President of ABC himself:
ABC is changing things up in scheduling some of its serialized dramas. The network will air what ABC president Paul Lee called “a selected group” of dramas in two uninterrupted runs, one in the fall and one in the spring, bridged by limited series. The series that will be included in the new scheduling model include Once Upon A Time, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and likely Revenge, with others TBD. So far, the network only has set up a bridge series for Once, new adventure reality series The Quest. Lee said such bridge series won’t necessarily be all unscripted. Two cycles of 12 episodes would bring the total orders for the shows to 24, which is hard on a complex, serialized drama, but Lee indicated that number has not been set in stone. He said that the network is looking to further shake up the traditional scheduling model with “quality launches” throughout the season.

Thanks!
I guess this means they can plan the season as two mini-ones. They could wrap up Neverland in the first half and then start a new arc for the second one.

I suppose you’re right. And now that we know Neal is alive, they could go ahead and announce that MRJ is joining the cast. *Hear that A and E! Make it so!*

Meghan said in an interview recently that she won’t be a regular next Season because of her new show, but is open to doing guest appearances at least “once a year.” She also added that they had initially planned to have Red/Ruby do more this past Season, but because of Neverland and the other busy storylines taking priority they simply couldn’t fit her in. Apparently Snow and Emma were going to be stuck in FTL a little longer, and Red was going to have a little more screentime. That sounds like being downgraded from a regular to me.

While I love Red, I’m really glad they brought Snow and Emma back when they did. Having it stretch out any longer might have really taxed the viewer. I’ve wondered since the finale, if Meghan hadn’t landed her new job, would it have been Ruby left in SB and not Belle? I guess we’ll never really know.
I do hope she’s around at least once a year. She’s a classic character and a fun one. Belle needs a buddy to help her out in SB and with Ruby, Granny and Grumpy she can run the town until she finds a way to join Rumple."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 14, 2013 at 5:50 pm #194279Killian JonesParticipantI like the idea of one long break during winter having a marathon and a promo episode to lead up into each half like they did this year would be nice too. I thought it would be a perfect fit to air Wonderland during this break on Thursday’s avoiding a lot of scheudling conflicts Once has to deal with whil still giving us something to tide us over. If Thursday is gonna be Wonderland day that’s ok too it’ll give us something to watch other than Sneak Peeks and promos. I’m really excited for the spin-off show even if it’s in a so called death slot. I remember somewhere reading that OUAT’s time slot was a death slot too and we can kill in the ratings if we’re scheduled right same I think with Wonderland. Also I’d like if we do this to finish in sweeps week why not have a two-hour finale? If we double up on a Sunday won’t that help us finish on time?

Yes, if this is the plan (24 episodes, a two part season) then I wonder what the season will look like. They’ve established a sort of pattern with regards to “centric” episodes.
Episode 1: All the cast, no centric story
Episode 2: Regina
Episode 3: Snowing
Episode 4: Rumple
Episode 5: Free for all (Archie in S1, Regina/Whale in S2)
Episode 6: this is where it broke up (Charming in S1 and Emma in S2)So they might hold that pattern somewhat except each episode might be centered on a land or place:
Episode 1: NL of the present and SB of the present
Episode 2: Regina FTL of the past, Regina NL of the present
Episode 3: Tamara centric (leads up to her death). Gotta get her story and send the actress back to AMC for the Walking Dead
Episode 4: Rumple FTL past (his connection to NL) and Rumple NL of the present (maybe some Belle in SB)
Episode 5: Hook’s backstory in NL, Hook centric in NL of the presentThe rest I can’t picture.

https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=96&t=4070May 14, 2013 at 6:06 pm #194291MysteryKat25ParticipantI agree, we really didn’t get much of Red or Ruby after Child of the Moon. She was great and had a lot of screentime in We Are Both but I think with so much hatred going on for the new characters + the length of time getting Snow & Emma out of FTL etc it just kinda collapsed and she was the main casualty.
As much as it’s hated, FTL did force Snow & Emma to have some mother-daughter bonding time and it did wonders for their relationship. Looking forward to seeing what the Neverland trip does for the extended family. With all the talk about how much these characters DON’T talk to each other about stuff, the early episodes of S2 did get Snow & Emma talking and going back to where it all began and coming to some kind of a truce on the pushing it vs pushing away front and they’re closer than ever now. Can’t wait to see how S3 helps with everyone else!
Glad to hear that she still might pop in from time to time so that she’s not completely gone. I was sad to see she wasn’t at the diner with everyone else encouraging Snowing to take charge and handle the situation but I guess that was filming at the same time as her pilot. If she had stayed, I have a feeling we’d have seen a brief scene similar to RumBelle but with Snow talking to Ruby (or perhaps, in the background of the RumBelle scene and then just telling Charming what she did later) asking Ruby to stay behind and protect everyone with her wolf powers. I’m just going to assume that this happened at some point cause I don’t think they would have taken her with them. With how concerned Charming sounded at his reaction to Rumple saying SB wasn’t safe, pretty sure he’d have wanted Ruby to stay and guard it too.
As for the 2 mini-seasons I could see that happening. Wrap up the Neverland storyline before winter and leave us dangling with something else until March. It could also affect the casting. IE: last year Colin was a guest star at the beginning and then a regular for the backhalf, so just because we have the starring list for next season doesn’t mean others (like MRJ) won’t be added later on if their storyline is pushed back a bit more, and it also doesn’t rule out something like Meghan and Emilie where last year in the writer’s room they found more ways to put them into the storyline they were building (or so they thought with Meghan anyway) so there might be more news on that front soon.
I’d rather they waited and then made somebody a 2nd half regular than add somebody else to the starring list that we’ll never really get to see. The ONLY reason that Colin wasn’t in as many episodes as he was supposed to be when his status changed was because of his broken leg so they worked around that. If they do have 24 episodes instead of 12, series regular would mean being in at least 13 of them, so even if somebody else is on recurring guest starring, they could still be around for the whole second half. MRJ was in a lot of episodes this season but it wasn’t over half so don’t panic people! You saw MRJ a lot more consistently in the 2nd half of the season than Colin this year so it doesn’t necessarily mean anything.
I am however thrilled that Colin DID get regular status because maybe it will cut down on all the Hook will die threads since they should hypothetically wrap up the Neverland storyline at the winter break and being a regular means over half the episodes *fingers crossed* – though I mostly just don’t want the panic to start and be a repeat of last year. It got old fast.

May 14, 2013 at 6:09 pm #194293RumplesGirlKeymasterI wonder when their ideas about the season, NL and Ruby changed. I read once that Colin was only supposed to be a guest star until H and K saw what he could do and decided to bump him to regular after the midseason break. And his first appearance was early on, episode 4. So if they saw it pretty early on, they might have made the revisions then.
