Ok so I guess I didn’t have a problem with the fact that the teacher was Officer Boyd in the sense that it didn’t bother me he hadn’t had much screen time. He had some conversations with Garrett, 1 on 1, when he was discovering stuff. He also was around a decent amount in the beginning as him and Garrett sort of went hand in hand when the cops showed up due to mysterious stuff going on. And then obviously Boyd was in the flashbacks in this episode and present until he was revealed to be the teacher. So that part doesn’t really bug me. Here’s what bugs me:
– OBVIOUS. Halfway through the episode it seemed so painfully obvious that it was Boyd. And I was sincerely hoping, (and actually thought bc it was so obvious) it was all just a ruse to reveal Deb as the teacher. But nope.
– Been screaming this for the whole show, but I’ll do it again- WHY IS ANYBODY DOING WHAT THEY ARE DOING? WHY ARE THEY TRYING TO SUMMON THIS DEMON? They feel powerless? What? So now by killing themselves they can live forever? Is that sort of what Deb’s old bf did and is that why he still can lurk around Stillwater as a ghost and “live forever?” Is this like in LOST where everyone who died on the island who haven’t moved on are the “whispers?”
– Why does Boyd get off scott free but everyone else has to kill themselves? How did Boyd get the role of the “teacher?”
Drew and Blair were the major highlight in this episode. Sure, everything looked kind of cool. And the cave setting was cool, and the sadistic ritual was creepy. And there were many deaths. So it wasn’t all horrible. It’s just looking at the grand scheme of the entire picture of the show as a whole, I find there to be many faults and a lack of detailed storytelling and most of all, true motive or meaning.
The one saving grace that will keep me watching is finding out who still is killing and why they are doing what they are doing. If Boyd was the teacher, who is the person who killed Cricket and Blotter? As much as I want it to be Deb, I think they are setting her up to be the hero here. Still trying to figure out why Elizabeth Mitchell took this role. She has to do something in the final 3 episodes. My guess is that Amy killed them in her satanic state. And the demon is officially on the loose now because the bloods mixed. Outside chance of Deb. Outside chance of Holyoke. They did say Anton was still talking to him. But like, where does he fit in with all this?
And then there’s Blair, who still hasn’t gotten a flashback episode yet. But I just don’t think he’s behind any of this. Although how he will connect to the final end pieces is a little intriguing. I’m also assuming this was Jessie’s flashback too. So she may not get anything else. But at the end of the day, we have three episodes left, and only 1 person who hasn’t gotten a flashback episode, assuming Jessie’s was part of Garrett’s. It’s too late to introduce a new player onto the scene, so I’m sticking with the demon in the form of Amy being the one who killed Blotter and Cricket.
Oh wait, crap, Amy hadn’t been possessed yet when Blotter was killed. Ahh damn it. I want Deb to be good, but it’s just too easy. It has to be her. But her motivation based on what we’ve seen so far, no friking clue. Perhaps she’s the only one who gets two flashbacks.
Any guesses anyone? I guess I’m going with Deb.

–Deb finally shuts down the camp!
–Didn’t anyone teach the kids not to stare into an eclipse?
–Cricket’s dead makeup was well done. However LOL at the CGI demon rising from that lake.
–Wow, the writers actually did a bit of research. Malphas is an actual figure in demonology.
–Shocking. Holyoake isn’t really bad. And man was that scene cheesy. Where did the guys in the masks even come from?? They like popped out of nowhere right behind the people in white. And all Holyoake does is go “no. stop. it’s a purification ceremony.” And really, all those white robed people died and no one managed to fight off one masked guy and get away? Uhuh.
–Jessie’s mom is the worst.
–The final 5 mins were actually pretty cool. FINALLY Amy has some sort of personality. Shame it has to be because of possession. So when did she actually get possessed? When she was struck by lightening?

Does this mean the person who killed Cricket and Blotter, etc was possessed Amy? Wouldn’t make sense bc she wasn’t possessed until the lightning hit her. So I still think there is someone still pulling the strings.
Hooray for Deb finally shutting everything down. I’m getting the sense that she truly is just someone who wanted to return to the camp she loved and wanted to make it fun for everyone again. And yet, I will be very disappointed if they never explain why she had one of those masks in her apt.
Jessie’s backstory was nice, and made me feel bad for her. But ultimately it served zero purpose in the present day plot.
And what’s her name does a much better possession Amy, than regular Amy.
Bye bye Joel….
Holyoke being good I thought was a nice twist. And the weird flashbacks with Jessie and Joel were done well and Cricket was done well with the creepy demon behind in the water. I just wish the scene where Holyoke in the past by the water was done better. Seemed rushed and the camera angle they elected to shoot it from was an odd choice.
So, Blair. At last we come to you. Where do you fit in with the end of this? It feels like we should only have one episode left. There’s gonna be a twist we don’t see coming that sets up the finale.

Yeah seriously. He and Drew sorta vanished for the whole episode. I really hope they didn’t create Blair and Drew just to be the “others” and that they play no role.

I agree with what both RG and DOD said. Both the possessed Amy and Holyoke twists were good. I definitely think there is somebody else pulling the strings that we have yet to find out, because Blotter was killed before Amy was possessed.

August 23, 2016 at 11:05 pm #326799RumplesGirlKeymasterOk.
That episode was awesome.
I mean, yeah, rife with cliches, but really well done. I was on the edge of my seat for the whole of it.
Finally! I am reminded that Elizabeth Lail is a really good actress.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"August 24, 2016 at 12:01 am #326802MatthewPaulModeratorAmy being evil the entire time was a great twist, and one that none of us really guessed, if I’m not mistaken. The first thing it reminded me of was the twist they did for “Sympathy of the De Vil”, which in itself worked. I’m honestly considering re-watching the earlier episodes at some point, now knowing the truth behind the earlier events of the series.
Here are some interesting post-mortem interviews with Adam, Eddy and Ian about tonight’s episode:

Yes, very much so.
So, what’s up with Deb? Why is she not as innocent as we might have thought. Amy made it sound like Deb was just like her.
Also, reflecting on the episode, I’m bothered mostly by the treatment of Drew and Blair–do they have any relevance to the storyline except to fill some sort of diversity quota? I’m going to be bummed if that’s all they were there for.
