ParticipantMaybe Emma gave birth to Henry the day before her 18th birthday? She would be practically 18 which would make sense her telling Ashley she was 18 when she gave birth. Also, it would explain why Henry was already 10.

I gotta say, it would surprise me. It was Emma’s birthday when Henry found her and he didn’t say anything. Which would be unusual for a 10 year old as precocious as Henry. And also, Emma’s birthday in season 1 was depressing enough without her thinking of the fact that she gave birth to her son whom she loved so much but couldn’t even look at ON HER BIRTHDAY every single year. God. That would be too cruel.
All very good points. While I wouldn’t be surprised given the theories that Henry is the savior of NL (like Emma was for the people of the EF) it would be harsh for Emma to deal with that year after year.

ParticipantIt would be a bit odd that Henry didn’t mention it on the day he found her, and Regina didn’t mention it either. Then again, Pilot eps are allowed to have glitches.
They did make it so Snow’s mother died on her birthday, so in a way it’d be fitting if Emma had a traumatic mother/child event happen on her birthday as well.

ParticipantDoes anyone think someone got to Emma before she gave birth and told her she can’t be a mother? It seemed like Emma had already decided to give up Henry, to give him “his best chance”, she wouldn’t even look at him. Could it be that she knew if she saw him, she wouldn’t be able to give him up?
Also, something I noticed on rewatching 301, after Tamara gets shot by the arrow, the camera cuts to Felix before cutting to Greg’s corpse. Felix doesn’t look happy, why could that be?

ParticipantHe looks upset or still “done with you fools “? I have to watch, but I thought he was supposed to show the cruelty of Pan’s minions. Maybe seeing the rip reminds him of it happening to a friend who dared to question peter.
I wonder if the shadow can only rip men’s shadows?

ParticipantWouldn’t surprise me in the least if someone got in Emma’s ear about giving the baby up. Also, I found it weird that the doctor supposedly wasn’t already aware she was giving the baby up, and his, “You know you can change your mind,” almost felt like he was testing her. Perhaps I’m being overly suspicious, but I’m feeling the urge to call shenanigans on the doctor and nurse.

Pilots are more concerned with being on the air a week later than continuity two seasons later, ie: “She poisoned an apple because she thought I was prettier than her” line.

Maybe that’s why it only wants boys.

Interesting, I’m sure being in the foster care system there weren’t a lot of happy birthdays for her, especially since she’s made it clear it wasn’t a pleasant experience for her.
I don’t think Emma and Henry share the same birthday. Didn’t Henry just have a birthday in Season 2? No one even mentioned it being Emma’s birthday as well. That definitely would’ve come up.

Henry’s birthday was only a dream sequence of Rumple’s to show his fear of the prophecy and Henry in general. So far as we know, I don’t think we can accept it as his canon birthday. (Lacey aired late April, btw)

Oh okay, I thought it was actually his birthday and that’s why he had the dream, and they just didn’t show it on camera. Still, I feel like them sharing the same birthday is so basic it would’ve been addressed already. I can see them both being born at 8:15 though, since that time is so important on Once.
