Who else here wants to find out more about what shadows do?I am really fascinated by how they’re going about with the shadow stuff in Neverland. So apparently the shadow holds some important part to its owner seeing as it’s painful to have it ripped right from your body(r-r-r-r-r-i-i-i-p).The Egyptians belived that the shadow was a part of the person’s soul.In Rick Riordan’s book The Serpent’s Shadow,a person can be brought back using their shadow or can be destroyed forever using their shadow. And in Peter and the Shadow Thieves(if you have not read this book, you need to!!!Go to the library.Now.),there is a shadow-stealing creature called Ombra who can steal a person’s shadow and control their body and alter them. So,what do you think happens when Peter rips someojne’s shadow from them?Do we know if that shadow was the real Peter or if Peter can cast his shadow into different worlds? What if the same shadow magic that applied in Neverland could also be applied in SB?and someone from the EF can do that kind of magic?Chaos!!!!!Do you guys think perhaps Peter is going to kill Henry by taking his shadow? Can the Shadow see the future?

All magic comes with a price!

Oooh. Ooooh. oooh. I concur! My money is on Henry, but I think Rumple will step in and save him, thus making Henry his undoing. My question is: if this plays out, will be Rumple’s shadow that is removed or the Dark One’s power?

Oh, good one! They’ve made such a case of having your shadow being ripped being a terrible thing to happen to you that they can’t NOT show us it happening at least once, and to have one of the main players be the victim would definitely resonate far morer to the audience than if it was Greg or Tamara.

All the boys walk and their shadows are reflected on the door. This scene is immediately following Felix telling Hook about the ripping, so if there were ever a time they wanted to make sure you’d notice Felix doesn’t have one–that would have been it.
I agree then–that something special happens with a ripped shadow, and that most likely, it will happen to one of our main character. I’d bet Rumple too.

May 22, 2013 at 12:11 am #195670RumplesGirlKeymasterNice catch! So that also means that the Lost Ones are loyal to PP for some reason, it’s not that once you take a shadow from someone, they turn into loyal drones or something. I wonder if PP and the Lost One came to NL together, way back when, but PP was always the leader.

Building on that, what if Rumple’s shadow is removed and the shadow then has the Dark One’s power which is controlled by Peter Pan?

That is terrifying and dark and I *love* it.

During one of my re-watches, I was trying to decide if he had a shadow when he was standing on the edge of the boat in that one scene. Sorta thought I saw what might have been a shadow, but wasn’t convinced, and then wondered if they’d set that scene at night so that shadows or lack thereof wouldn’t be as obvious. The scene inside the boat apparently busts that idea though. Will have to keep an eye out for all those shadows on my next re-watch.
