Looks like the spinoff is not happening. My guess is it was between renewing Agent Carter or greenlighting the spinoff, and they chose Carter:

Yay for AoS and Agent Carter getting renewed! I’m not too surprised or upset about the spinoff…I like Hunter where he is on AoS. Maybe they’ll give him a bigger part on the show next season.

I really can’t stand these two together…not a good combination.
May 13, 2015 at 7:07 pm #304784torrieParticipantThat finale! Holy kapoodles! I didn’t think it could live up to the awesomeness of the Season 1 finale, but it totally did!
First of all, this episode had a huge body count! 4 main-ish characters died, plus numerous lesser-known characters.
Death number 1: Raina. I’ve disliked Raina since she first appeared on the show, but Jiaying’s unnecessary killing of her did not give me any pleasure. Though Raina’s death did let Skye see her mom for who she really is.
Death number 2: Kara. Clever, clever May. Kara’s death did not disappoint me in the least. Ward totally deserved having to watch his girlfriend die after what he did to Hunter and Bobbi!
Death number 3: Gordon. At first, with the camera angle, it looked like Fitz was the one who had been stabbed, and I panicked. But when Gordon died, again, I was not upset. I never really liked Gordon either.
Death number 4: Jiaying. I was glad when we learned that she was not dead anymore, but since she’s been back on the show, I haven’t trusted her character. Wonder why… It was really sad that Cal had to kill his love, but she was in the process of murdering their daughter, so I suppose it had to be done. How did Cal kill her though? It looked like he hugged her to death…
And there were other deaths of less important characters: Agent Weaver’s partner, Ward’s aggravating Hydra-recruiting buddy that wasn’t really his buddy, and a couple other agents.
The saddest scenes for me were 1) When Bobbi took that bullet for Hunter. The love between those two is unreal…they would literally die for each other. 2) When Skye went to visit Cal and the end, and he didn’t remember her. :'( It was probably for the best, and I’m sure he’ll make a wonderful veterinarian, but he has no memory of his own daughter.
Most epic scene was definitely Bobbi stabbing Ward in the neck leading into their fight scene! I was so darn proud of her for fighting back! She is the stuff superheroes are made of! I’ve been skeptical of Bobbi all along, but this episode really redeemed her for me.
So is Bobbi going to be leaving the show? When she was in the hospital, she said she wanted out, but I wonder if they had that in there as an excuse for her to leave in time for the spinoff with Hunter, and she’ll be sticking around since it didn’t get picked up. I hope her and Hunter stay…I really like those two together.
Can we appreciate Fitz’s sass? Gordon: “How did you…?” Fitz: “It’s science, beotch!”
Ward is a complete psychopath. Enough said. He will likely be the Big Bad of Season 3. yippee.
I’m very glad that Mack stayed with SHIELD! And that he chopped off Coulson’s arm! I knew that axe would come in handy, lol.
Another scene I really liked was May and Hunter’s heart-to-heart on the plane. Those two have never got along, but it was nice to see them bonding. Though question time: Did May love Ward? Something Hunter said made me think that May might’ve had feelings for Ward, but maybe I’m imagining things.
Are May and Andrew officially back together then? I thought he was married… I have nothing against Andrew, but I’m a Philinda shipper, so I’m not a fan of Andrew being too involved in May’s life 😛
Crystals in fish egg pills…not good.
And finally, Fitzsimmons. I love that Simmons brought up their underwater discussion on the anniversary of its occurrence. I think they were about to kiss before Coulson barged in! Darn you, Coulson!
But Fitz asked her out! And she said yes! <3 AND THEN GOT CONSUMED BY THE BLACK BLOB OF DOOM!!!! NOT OKAY!!!!
Well…I’ve said my piece…other opinions?

I’m so excited for this new season, ya’ll!
September 30, 2015 at 8:56 am #308784Sci-Fi GirlParticipantSimmons! Where is that?!? 😮
Oh goodness, Fitz! 😯
And where has May got to?
Any guesses on fringed lizard guy? Is he an actual alien?
Hunter and Bobby angst. Ouch.
I keep forgetting about Coulson’s hand. And we have to call Skye Daisy now.
And back around to Fitz. From badass, all the way to emotional wreck. It’s cool that he reads Hebrew, but damn! 🙁 (And were those guys with the scroll supposed to be ISIS or something?)

September 30, 2015 at 10:05 pm #308843torrieParticipantHey everyone!
So that was a pretty cool Season premiere! Here’s some general thoughts I had while watching the episode:
First of all, that one-hour timeslot seemed to go by really quickly! They barely mentioned two main characters (May and Ward), and they still seemed to be rushing a bit because they have so much material to get through.
So Mack and Daisy are partners, which is interesting. They’ve never been the best of friends, but they seem to be working okay together.
I like how Coulson is struggling with calling Skye “Daisy”. It seems natural that he’d have a hard time calling her something different.
What is the deal with Hunter and Bobbi? They’re relationship confuses me so much! In their scene together, they’re a normal couple (or as normal as it can get with those two), but in front of everyone else, they can’t talk to each other.
It’s really weird seeing Bobbi working in the lab, though she looks like she’s doing alright. I know it’s Mockingbird canon, but the show’s never mentioned her bio experience…
Between Mack being attached to Daisy, and Bobbi working in the lab, it looks a bit like they’ve found “replacements” for Ward and Fitz.
What’s the deal with Lincoln? Why is he so adamant about staying away from SHIELD/his Inhuman identity?
Rosalind is an interesting character…I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of her in coming episodes. I don’t think I’m a huge fan of her.
Lash is scary. I don’t know why he was so angry with Daisy/Lincoln, but I’m sure it’ll continue to be an issue.
Fitz is absolute perfection. Iain better be nominated for an Emmy…he has done an AMAZING job with Fitz’s development over the past couple seasons. I love how tough he was when he was talking to the Moroccan gang. Oh…HE LOVES SIMMONS!! I know he’s implied it since Season 1, but it’s nice for him so actually say the words…hopefully he’ll be able to tell it to Simmons soon!
BUT THAT SCENE AT THE END!! With Coulson and Fitz!! Again, Iain’s acting was complete perfection…he was so desperate and heartbroken. When Coulson said “May left on vacation and never came back, and now I’m missing my right arm too” I almost sobbed. She better get back to the team ASAP! But again, back to Fitz, when he was screaming at the monolith at the end…UGH, so good!
Why did the scroll say Death on it? Clearly Simmons isn’t dead…she’s just somewhere else.
I think this is it for now…can it be next Tuesday already? Lol

I was really confused by that scene. They were trying to fill us in on what had happened during the break, but without the context of what we missed I couldn’t get a read on where those two were at! Those two are so hot and cold, on and off, that I can’t tell their breakups from their get-togethers, LOL! 🙄

I think he’s still traumatized from the events at the end of last season. His whole world was basically turned upside down. So he’s probably trying to avoid anything connected to that, but of course that’s impossible.
Lash is scary. I don’t know why he was so angry with Daisy/Lincoln, but I’m sure it’ll continue to be an issue.
I got some spoilery info about Lash, if you’re interested. Read it here. 🙂

Yep, so many amazing moments. 😎
Oh, and about the “right arm” comment, it reminded me of something that Fury said once. I think it was in Avengers, when Coulson was … mostly dead. Fury referred to Coulson saying “I’ve lost my one good eye”. So this was a really nice callback to that! 🙂
Why did the scroll say Death on it? Clearly Simmons isn’t dead…she’s just somewhere else.
Two possibilities that I can think of.
– One, whoever wrote the scroll never figured out how to get someone back out of the thing, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done!
– Two, I know it is only one word, but could there be other meanings or interpretations in an ancient context? Like, “death” means leaving this plane of existence. And Simmons really went through a wormhole to another planet, or maybe dimension! 😮
– Three, I just thought of one more! Wherever Simmons is, she is being chased by something. The monolith is clearly a doorway to that world, and it must work both ways (cause we know she’s coming back!). So if something deadly were to come out of that thing, it would surely be labeled death! 😮
I think this is it for now…can it be next Tuesday already? Lol
IKR!?! 😆

October 8, 2015 at 4:20 pm #309523torrieParticipantHeyyy so episode 2 is under our belt! Usually the second episode is a lot duller than the first, and though there was less action, I was just as engaged as I was for the season premiere.
So Ward is back…yay *sarcasm*. I actually do enjoy watching Ward onscreen although my loathing for him has exponentially increased since his torture of Bobbi. It seems like Ward is running HYDRA how Garrett would’ve run it, with the ‘if you want something, you have to earn it’ mentality, which was super evident in how he took the Von Strucker kid under his wing.
May! It was so good to see her, even if she was just chilling with her dad in Arizona. It was also really sweet to see her interact with her dad…he calls her Mellie! How adorable is that?
I loved seeing Hunter go to May for help. I think the last couple episodes of Season 2 really brought them together, and I’m excited to see their friendship develop during Season 3. They are polar opposites in terms of personality, but I think they’ll find they have more in common than they initially believed. I’m sure their quest to murder Ward will be quite an interesting experience…we’ll probably see a much darker side of Hunter than the snarky, romantic Englishman.
I *still* really like that Coulson keeps calling Daisy “Skye”, especially when he’s worried about her…it’s very father-like. I’m kind of hoping there will be a point when he calls her Skye, and she doesn’t correct him…let her stay ‘Skye’ in Coulson’s eyes.
This episode had a lot of sass/humor, (Coulson getting blamed for the prison break, Ward buying tacos, the interactions between May and her dad, Hunter’s reaction to hearing Simmons was okay) which I think is a really good artistic decision especially since some of the themes are so dark.
The one thing I would’ve changed about this episode is that Coulson and May talked about what happened to Simmons. I wish that a) we could’ve seen that conversation to know what the new dynamic between them is like or b)she wouldn’t have let herself be contacted by them…maybe Coulson had told Andrew who relayed the information to May. I just didn’t like how two characters with such great chemistry had a really important off-screen conversation.
FITZSIMMONS REUNITED!!!! Yes, they rescued Simmons a little sooner than I predicted, but those two are just so adorable together.
And the ending scene…Hydra Jr. being in Andrew’s psych class is not going to end well…I’m afraid for Andrew’s safety. If I had to pick a character to get killed off sometime soon, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Andrew go, which is a shame…I like Andrew. And I like that the show didn’t force him and May back together. They’ve both clearly moved on, and I think they have a really great friendship.
The next episode looks like some Skye/Hunter shippers might be happy. I’m not really onboard that ship…I don’t think they’ve had enough time to develop romantic feelings for each other, but we’ll see what happens. Apparently episode three is the ‘biggest’ episode they’ve ever filmed…I can’t wait to see what they come up with!
Other thoughts?
