We were chatting in the chat box tonight about our headcanons concerning Alice, Grace, and the Red Queen. There are quite a few of us that think the RQ is Alice’s sister and possibly Jefferson’s wife and Grace’s mother. We then remembered that when YoungAlice comes out of the rabbit hole in the beginning there are many stuffed animals at a tea party. We did a screen shot comparison. The rabbit at Alice’s table is not exactly like the one Jefferson made for Grace, but they are similar. As if he had seen something like it before. What do you think?
Here is Alice’s doll

October 11, 2013 at 11:29 pm #215284RumplesGirlKeymasterSo headcanon: the doll at Alice’s tea party actually belongs to her sister, the future Red Queen. At some point she may go back for it, villains are sometimes very sentimental. She kept it with her even during her marriage to Jefferson. After Jefferson and Grace “lost” his wife, the EQ, he remembered her favorite toy and eventually came to construct the second toy for Grace which is in many ways in remembrance of his wife.

How could Grace have a stuffed rabbit that once belonged to a young Alice? This means the dreaded t-word. I hate to think of timelines.

Ok. Alice is about ten when she returns home. If we assume she is 20 now and the Curse hit when she was about 19 or 20, then she came back from WL about 9-10 years BEFORE the Curse was cast.
10 years before the Curse Jefferson was still working for Rumple and enjoying his job. His daughter was not yet born, though I’d say soon based on her age in Hat Trick.
The RQ is maybe a few years older than Alice.
I don’t know where I’m going with this. help?

Alice was about 20 when the Curse hit, and about 10 when she returned from WL the first time.
So if Grace was about 10 when the Curse hit, she had to have been born around the time that Alice came back from WL.
Which would mean that if RQ is Grace’s mother and Alice’s sister, there’s probably about a 10 year age gap between RQ and Alice.
The actresses playing Alice and RQ are less than a year apart in age. Though I guess RQ has magic, so could probably keep herself looking young if she really wanted to?

Yeah that’s an issue. But it’s not unheard of for actors and actresses to play up or down, and ONCE does it quite a bit when they need to. Cora was supposed to have been the QoH for 10 years in between We Are Both and her return to the EF in QoH, yet she appears to be remarkably the same (and I know logically why that is…) but storytelling wise if Cora had discovered some anti-aging rabbit creme or something, maybe the RQ has been using it??

That’s the greatest thing I’ve read all morning! hehe
