While that explanation works for me, having just rewatched I’m not convinced. The vortex the rabbit opens out of fictional London probably closes back up and I’ll accept that. But the hole that opens in Granny’s literally EXPLODES, just like the hole that opens in the first shot of the show when Alice comes back to London as a little girl. Different portals it looks like.
Rabbit holes do appear to open quite violently on the destination end, but I still think they probably close themselves up too. If not, then there’ll forever be a big hole in the sky where Alice and Knave fell through.
Maybe the England where Alice come from is not our land without magic,
It’s not. Adam has confirmed that the London that Alice is from is FictionalLondon, but the London where Bae met the Darlings was RealLondon in our world.
Is Wonderland still meant to be right after Broken? I’m not so sure about that. The original 20 min presentation very clearly began during that, but not the aired episode. Personally, I’d rather believe it beings right before “Second Star to the Right”, if only because it keeps the show’s timeline more synchronized with the parent one.
That would be a good question for K&H at some point. Without the Wraith appearing in the final cut of the episode, it’s entirely possible that it was at a different time.
My question is, how did Alice not age for 28 years? We know Jefferson was taken by the curse and the curse lasted 28 years hence why the hatter hadn’t been seen for “some time”. The knave was in Storybrooke and since this takes place during Broken, the Knave would have had to have been in Storybrooke for the duration of the curse- 28 years. Since Alice knew where the hatter lived, she must have met him before the curse was cast.
Alice had to ask the Rabbit where the Hatter’s house was, but I do like to think that she’d met him on her first visit to WL. The t-word is messing with my head, because Alice is early 20s, (actress is 23), so if time runs concurrently in FictionalLondon, FTL, and our world, she wasn’t born until after the Curse was cast. But Knave got swept up in the Curse, and also knows Alice and Cyrus. Soooo…*headdesk*.

Because it seemed to me like YoungAlice came back to FictionalLondon after the Curse was cast and everyone was in SB (but then how did she meet The Knave)?

This is very confusing.

I thought they said that the curse affected all lands. So I think it froze the time in all lands. So I think most stuff which happened was before the curse and after Alice came back to FictionalLondon time was frozen until Emma arrived in SB.
Edit: I should have checked the chat before I posted.^^

When we saw Emma’s bug, I thought the story was taking place during the pilot when Emma was leaving Storybrooke or when she was taking Henry in An Apple as Red as Blood. If it’s season two, then it makes more sense why the Knave would remember because the curse is already broken.
Maybe, the pilot took place during Broken but I think seeing Emma’s bug threw things off for us.

That’s Broken, The Cricket Game through In The Name of The Brother and Welcome to Storybrooke through And Straight On Till Morning.

I think frozen time in FictionalLondon would probably solve the dilemma, yeah. Tweeted Adam just before to ask about it, but who knows if he’ll see it and reply or not.

Yes but there was the massive storm happening too, which lines up with Broken–not the other episodes.
And for reason they cut the part they showed at D23 where the Wraith was destroying the town.
The whole “Present day” thing did not help matters. I think they are trying to make it more vague but it’s confusing.

Hmmmmm. But Alice is only about 20-25. The Curse was cast now 29ish years ago. Meaning that her first adventure in WL (when she was very young) took place during the Curse.

But if time froze for Alice in FictionalLondon at the same time that time froze for the Knave in SB, then we don’t have the problem of him having left the magical realms before Alice was even born.

So the Curse was cast as soon as Alice got back to Fictional London after her adventures with Cyrus and the Knave. She was then in the Aslyum for 28 years–frozen–and only unfroze when Emma came to town, hence the Doctor thinking that she’ only been in the Asylum for 1 year. Is that what you’re saying?
