My guess: Violet’s dad is Lily’s dad. And Maleficent is actually Lily’s mom.

I agree. It felt out of left field that Violet’s dad is the Yankee in King Arthur’s court. It has been a long (long long ) time since I read that book. Anyone know of a dragon connection to the main character?

Okay, the woman’s head we’re looking at (big curly hair, sparkly cap)…she turns around in the very next moment and we see her head on. She’s wearing what I could call “cliche Gypsy” gear (like when movie writers need to signal Gypsy-ness to their audience). Esmeralda from Hunchback? The color of her outfit is wrong….but maybe?

I thought the same thing in another thread, only Lily and Violet are half sisters (same dad, different mom). Both of them have flower names.
