I was thinking the tree was in our world. If Emma goes into a tree in FTL, it’d be reasonable to assume she’d be inside a tree when she pops up in our world. The blast is the force of her arrival, blowing a hole in the side of the tree so Pinocchio can pick her up. The fact he wasn’t in the tree himself, and was already there, suggests that he wasn’t transported via the tree/wardrobe, but via some other means before Emma came through.

This would be awesome. Love this theory.
April 24, 2012 at 6:34 pm #143723PheeParticipantAlso, I’m thinking we have 2 different trees in this trailer. They edited it to look like it’s all from one scene, but the 2 trees actually look completely different.
There’s the tall one that has a hole blasted out of the side of it, then Pinocchio seems to be peering into the hole in the tree, then there are those 2 flashes of light, which I think was probably Emma materialising in the tree.
Then it cuts to the scene of Pinocchio falling backwards from a tree STUMP, which is what we see in the behind the scenes pics too. When I was stopping and starting, trying to watch frame by frame, when he falls backwards from that tree stump and lands on his back on the ground, it kinda looks like his body is stiff and not human. They’re fading the scene out at that point though, so I can’t say 100% for sure. I think THAT scene is in FTL at a completely different point in the story.
Maybe he’s told not to go near that tree stump, but he goes and touches it, and it turns him into wood. Then whatever happens to him that results in him ending up in the lake. Then Geppetto finds him and he turns back into a real boy. Now I’m all kinds of curious as to how they’ve re-written the Pinocchio story and whether he started out human or puppet. Is it Sunday yet?!?!?
April 24, 2012 at 6:54 pm #143732hjbauParticipantI watched the promo again and i was just thinking there is a shot of Rumpel stopping Charming’s sword. Is that from this episode? Does that mean Rumpel and Charming are going to be in the Pinocchio episode? Though i guess if they go up till the time of the making of the cabinet then that is possible. Where does this fall in the timeline i guess is what i am asking?
April 25, 2012 at 7:48 am #143932miaParticipantAnother scene, another idea:
Emma with the sword swinging it around.
Everyone either thought it’s real or it’s a nightmare that Regina is having. After watching the promo I couldn’t wonder but think that it’s Emma having a nightmare. I mean, August seems to tell her he’s from FTL, she’s the saviour and we hear her say “I’ve got to save everyone????” Wouldn’t that make you have bad dreams?April 25, 2012 at 10:28 am #143949PheeParticipantGood idea, mia! It could certainly be Emma’s dream instead of Regina’s.

April 25, 2012 at 11:07 am #143961PheeParticipantIt would be if it’s a position she doesn’t want to be in. And judging by how upset she is in that scene with August in the promo, it doesn’t seem that she’s relishing the saviour role.

It just doesn’t seem like she’s feeling too bad about it when she’s going all Queen of Hearts on Regina! No one is ready for that burden she’s gonna have but the key thing is something happened that she now believes it’s her burden to bear now. I hope at least that’s in the next episode I wanna see the look on Henry’s face when he sees that Emma finally believes. Also the initial reaction to realizing she’s found her parents and has been living with her mom! And how they’ll react?! Talk about mind blowing!
April 25, 2012 at 4:25 pm #144010miaParticipantI just don’t think Emma would just calmly take that sword and chop Regina’s head off. Especially in front of Henry. Maybe it’s naive of me, but I just don’t believe Emma would ever kill someone like that. And I don’t think MM&David would allow her to do that. You’ve also got to remember that there are two more episodes after this. Why would Emma use a sword (I’d guess from Gold’s shop) and not her gun? The use of a sword for that matter makes me think that everyone has remembered FTL etc. I don’t think that will happen until the finale.
I just don’t see Emma killing anyone like that. Yes, everything else is mindblowing. That’s why it’s a dream. She’s just been confronted by August and everything that comes along with the fact that she truly is the saviour and thus Snow&Charming’s daughter, etc. would make her think about it a lot. What we dream about are things that happened during the last few days and this info would need lots of processing. -
