I’m also holding out hope for Mr. Gold. The writers have gone out of their way to show us his vulnerable side for a reason. They want us to see that underneath his powerful facade, he’s just a man. A man with normal needs and desires. Love, family, and yes, even power. We don’t like to admit it to ourselves, but we all lust for power in one form or another. Whether it be in a romantic relationship or at your job. Power dominates us all. Sad, but true.
I agree. I don’t want to believe yet that Rumpel has been totally corrupted by power. There’s a reason why he does everything. I do think his ultimate goal is to find Baelfire now that the curse has been broken, and perhaps, magic will make it easier for him to do that.
I like the idea of Belle being his conscious 😀

First, Emma went from a staunch non-believer to full-blown believer in quite a hurry. I couldn’t suspend my disbelief for that scene.
Second, Malaficient the Dragon was a terrible combatant. Both Prince Charm and Emma handled her fairly easily. 🙄 Only Red Dragons can breath fire, but whatever.
I guess what I’m saying is, they burned through a LOT of big major story elements very very fast in only one episode.
Agree with all of what you just said, malchore. Still a fantastic episode, but yeah, things were handled too quickly and some of the plot suffered because of that. Instead of being sweet and sentimental, Belle/Rumple turned out rather awkward to me. The dragon sequence was all weird too. Great to see bada** Emma, but I just wanted to roll my eyes about the dragon.
I think the only thing that really turned out perfectly was actually the entire ending with Emma kissing Henry, the curse whacking everyone into recognition, the Snow/James reunion and then the purple cloud storming in.
They missed an opportunity to bring “Androcles and the Lion” into continuity. A dragon might be grateful to the person who removed a big chunk of metal from her neck, and might owe that person a favour.

Gaultheria that’s great! I would’ve enjoyed that a lot more than her killing Maleficent. 🙁
