Jafar wants to break the laws of magic to have his father love him

Ana wants to break the laws of magic to go back and time and not take the King’s offer of marriage and stay with Will.

Are her actions justified? Do you think Will will forgive her?

I’m a little bit biased towards the red queen, she is one of my favorite characters on the show. Yes, I do think her actions/wish are justified. I don’t think the Knave will forgive her for the time being because she broke his heart into pieces.

What about when he gets his heart back, though? We know it’s missing right now; he has hidden it away because of the pain the RQ caused him. Once he gets it back, I can see him trusting her again.

I dont think her actions are justified. She in a way, is trying to force his love to her. If she really loved him she would try to fix there relationship the good old fashioned way. By PROVING that she regrets the choice she made and showing him that she does love him and wants him. Love is true, its not magic v.v

Jafars actions are slightly better. He cares for his father and just wants his love back in return. But he too is going about it the wrong way. Idk how he could fix that tho :/ id hate to be a therapist to these people T.T

That’s really well put. The difference for me is that Jafar never had his father’s love in the first place and was cruelly used and abused. Ana had Will’s love, his devotion. He did everything for her, including going to WL.

Ana’s a bit like Regina in that she thinks magic can solve all her problems. She wants to change the past but that would change everyhting wouldn’t it? She never becomes Queen, she never leaves Will. She never deals with Jafar and she never takes Cyrus. Alice never goes home heartbroken and is put in the mental institute. But that’s not growth. And I agree: prove to me that you love me. Don’t magic it away.

This. I did feel bad for her when she was so clearly showing how much she wished she could just change history, because she hates that she left him and hurt him and lost him, but just changing history is not the right way to go about getting him back. It’d bug me the same way it bugged me when they turned back the clock on August. You make choices, and you live and learn from them. Changing history to erase your big mistake is a cop out.

Just to point out that what Anastasia is doing is equivalent to her Disney equivalent to Cinderella: A Twist in Time where she steals the  wand from the Fairy Godmother and it ultimately gets used so she ends up with the Princes instead.

In Once, she(well the Knave) steals a magic mirror so that she ends up becoming queen just like her mother wanted(wouldn’t even be surprised if she set this up somehow).

But matching the narrative more closely; he seeks to use magic to rewrite time and reobtain a lost chance at love.

just adds to the theory that Ana is one of the stepsisters from Cinderella

I think Ana wants to change the laws of magic to use on herself because she is envious of all those people who are totally happily in love.  She doesn’t love Will but wishes she did, and her confession this week was a bit of a smoke screen for that.  She thinks Will is a great catch, and it confuses and frustrates her that she’s never felt head-over-heels in love with him.
