Any comic book fans out there?

For anyone wondering- free comic book day yielded some really great finds. There was an issue of a comic that appears to be based on the Grimm TV series and an interesting one called Damsels: Mermaids which seems to be some more adventures with fairy tale characters.

I love Runaways.. and Grimm Fairy Tales

Runaways is a series that I’ve been told is really good. Maybe when I catch up on my reading I’ll check it out.

I read the first few volumes of Grimm Fairy Tales and enjoyed them, but I preferred the story arcs and character development of Fables to the episodic nature of GFT. (That may very well have changed as the series has developed.) The artists for GFT seem to go to a lot of comic book conventions for signings etc.

I’ve heard a lot of things about Fables. I have a book club thing on my podcast, so I plan to use Fables soon. And at our local comic con, I’ll scoop up every copy of the series I can find.

Awesome! I’d love to be in touch with another Fables fan (if you end up being a fan, of course). It’s got a small, but devoted fandom- but conversation about the series can be kind of slow so I’m always trying to get people in to it. I’d love to hear your podcast thoughts on it when that comes about!

I’ll let you know when I end up reading the one I have plus more! I used to work at a bookstore for 10 years and they always intrigued me.

“Fables” seems to be a favorite of bookstore employees. I often saw it featured on the end cap in a “our favorites” display at Barnes and Noble. ^_^
