Did some more sewing today when I should have been doing yard work or cleaning. I needed a purse organizer so I sat down and made one to fit my purse. No pattern, but I did sketch it out a bit and did the math beforehand.

That’s really cute Jo! Wish I had skills to make my own stuff, sans pattern.

Thank you. It fits in my purse and is currently in use. All I did was plunk my wallet down on a sheet of paper, trace around it and them whipped out my ruler and started cleaning up measurements. It brought back flashbacks of technical drawing we all had to take decades ago.

I made dollhouses and miniatures for years and measuring is constantly done there. If you’re off by a 1/16th of an inch it messes the scale all up. That helps me in knitting and sewing a lot. It also helps that I’m a very spacial/visual learner. Plus, I read a lot about how other people do similar projects.

So, I’m back to knitting and it’s frustrating me. I don’t like the border in the pattern for the Emma blanket so I might have to do another version. Off to Ravelry to see if others messed up the border, too.

I just bought a new crochet book called “It Girl” Crochet. It has patterns for 23 different accessories. I can’t wait to get it and make some fingerless gloves and hats.

I also purchased a pattern to make several tunics. I find them comfy, but they are so expensive in the stores. I think I will get my MIL to make some for me. Or I may just try myself.

I’ve been in a crochet rut lately. My one project isn’t going as planned and I can’t decide what to do with it. So I moved on to something else for the moment. My best friend wanted a scarf in the TARDIS colors. I decided to use silver instead of black because I *hate* crocheting with black yarn. Waffle stitch scarf!

I had some blue left over from the scarf I made, so I decided to make my friend a hat as well. It’s supposed to resemble a “hounds tooth” pattern

This is the beginning of a thing (known as a sock)
