    Love those socks Jo!

Made a hat last night. It’s called the Tulip Beanie (Vanna’s Choice in White. Vanna’s in Raspberry. Red Heart Super Saver in Forest Green)

I had a lot of Grey Heather left over, but not enough to really do anything big with it. So I made an elephant.

I finally finished assembling the quilt top I have been making for my niece.  I just have to add borders. Hopefully that will be done this weekend .. then off to the quilters … This took longer than I anticipated to assemble.

That’s gorgeous Nonnie! Quilting baffles me. It seems like a very complex craft.

IT is just sewing…. adding fabric to other fabrics following a pattern  .. very much like a puzzle but with fabric … I do mostly machine piecing but I usually have some kind of hand work to do when watching TV.  ( NOT DURING ONCE)  I was told you need patience but I AM THE LEAST PATIENT PERSON I KNOW …

I started in 2005 after taking classes at a local quilt shop.  I follow a lot of on line blogs, tutorials and of course CRAFTSY  ….     (http://www.craftsy.com/classes/quilting?_ct=sbqiiui-cuwqsqjuweho-ikr-dql-byda&_ctp=Sewing+%26+Quilting,quilting  ) Craftsy has all kinds of classes …. knitting … crochet … photography … you name it they have it.   TRY it you will like it.

Try the free workshop and see if you find something you like.  Each craft has some free classes to let you see if you like the platform.

Those look fantastic, Nonnie and RG.

Nonnie, do you hand quilt? I still have my mother’s plastic frames but I’ve never gotten into it. Even my dad knew the basics because his mother and my mom’s mother both had quilting bees when they were little kids. I have a library of quilting books but I’ve never tried it myself.

RG, isn’t there something satisfying about wearing socks you made. Nice warm toesies.

Oh, they say the same thing about knitting or even working on miniatures about having tons of patience and I have none. I think it’s the really impatient that are drawn to crafts because it’s something to tunnel our attention and energy toward.

I was commissioned to make a dinosaur costume for a new born. Finished it today. Done in Deborah Noville “Baby Boy” and Vanna’s Choice “Radiant Orange”
