Those look fantastic, Nonnie and RG. Nonnie, do you hand quilt? I still have my mother’s plastic frames but I’ve never gotten into it. Even my dad knew the basics because his mother and my mom’s mother both had quilting bees when they were little kids. I have a library of quilting books but I’ve never tried it myself. RG, isn’t there something satisfying about wearing socks you made. Nice warm toesies. Oh, they say the same thing about knitting or even working on miniatures about having tons of patience and I have none. I think it’s the really impatient that are drawn to crafts because it’s something to tunnel our attention and energy toward.
NO I do not hand quilt …. nothing would get done if I did. Hurts my hand and to be honest no skill or desire to learn. I FREE MOTION QUILT the smaller quilt tops and then QUILT BY CHECKBOOK for anything larger than a twin.

March 5, 2015 at 12:42 pm #297709JosephineParticipantMy cardigan is giving me difficulty.
I’m to the decreases in the neckline and they’re not symmetrical, which I plotted it out and finally understand the reasoning. However, I also have to decrease in pattern, and remembering which row is a decrease row and which row is a berry stitch row (involving many increases and decreases) is confusing. Add to the confusion it’s different on each side. So….I’m ignoring the pattern and simplifying it in my head. Berry stitch rows will also be decrease rows. That way it’s decreased symmetrically and I won’t have to keep detailed notes for each row.
Hopefully this simplification will let me finally get some work done on this thing. I want it done.

March 13, 2015 at 8:59 pm #298516RumplesGirlKeymasterA few updates
A purse I’m making–Patons Worsted Wool (Pumpkin)
A memorial I made for Cinnabun. I bought the shelf at JoAnn’s and painted it in “Gold Sparkle” The glass jar has a lock of her fur.

LOVE the color. I used to hate orange and it’s really become a favorite color of mine, especially pumpkins and burnt oranges.
I got a shoulder done of my cardigan, working on the other side now, but I also started a new project. At this rate the cardigan will be done next year. I’m making “monster pants” for a certain baby 😛 Using Lion Brand Ice Cream yarn in Cotton Candy. I’m really impressed by this yarn for an acrylic. The striping is turning out very well. Started it Thursday night so I’m going technically on day 2. It’s coming along fast…for me. 😆

The blanket is FINALLY finished. It took over 4 months and ultimately 19 skeins of yarn. It’s over 6ftx6ft.
And finally, finished another pair of slippers in Patons Wool Chunky (Gold and Dark Grey Heather)
