I found this to be an interesting topic so I had to google it. I have first read the Turnip Princess however, :bangs head on wall: , I need more exposition! What is going on? Is it an enchantment on the young maiden and whoever the bear is supposed to be? Is it an old witch wanting to snag a prince? What was the lesson meant to be for medieval Germans? 😯

I read King Goldenlocks and that is really well put together and easy to understand and follow it’s reasoning. It’s a shame it was locked away in some archive all these years. It could have become popular, but the story is similar to ‘Iron John’, ‘The Hairy Man’, and ‘The Gold-bearded Man’.
