Anyone else get super annoyed listening to other podcasts?

I just get so frustrated listening to almost any other podcast than Once. Once does a great job at making the most valid points and voicing the most valid opinions out of all the podcasts. They keep it rational within the limitations of story as well as the limitations of it being a TELEVISION SHOW.

Some of these other podcasts keep talking about plot holes. The last one I listened to, they called things plot holes so much, I don’t even think they know what it means. They don’t take into account that most of those things probably aren’t plot holes, just story lines that have yet to be developed, or may never be fully developed, but doesn’t affect the flow of the story at all.

I’m so thankful for a community who keeps it rational, logical, and as realistic as possible, even in a magical-world setting!!!!!! Seriously, I hope I’m not alone in this other-podcast-love-hate-thing, I just can’t stop listening. You’d think two Once podcasts per episode would be enough, but it’s almost like torturing myself hearing most of these other hosts. I just can’t get enough of OUAT.

I tried listening to other podcasts but I had to stop. My reasons were lack of knowledge about the show (leading to me screaming in the car) and one point of view expressed to the exclusion of any others. That being said, I think it is good for the fandom as a whole for all of these podcasts to exist (because, thank God, everyone is not like me!) But for me, the only one I listen to is this one.

Sounds like how people use the word “theory” here. (I’m a researcher in evolutionary biology; we can be sensitive about that.)

I have two other podcasts that I like to listen to, but they do not compare to this site. Once is wonderful. Lots of interactions that are positive, Lots of interesting feedback and educated thoughts. So many other podcasts that I have tried to listen to have been painful due to language that I feel is inappropriate, not well thought out ideas, or just being generally rude. It is a TV about magic, it is not suppose to be all about reality and real life. I love that on Sunday nights I can move into a world of make believe and true love etc. And Once understands that. It is about imagination and getting the pieces to fit in a world of make believe. I love when I walk away and confused and then coming here to read about what other people think. They are always so well thought out, even on just initial thoughts. I really enjoy hearing and reading what you all think. I enjoy putting those make believe puzzles together. You guys are great. No one else out there is as good as this Podcast. I so look forward to Sunday and Wednesday night Podcasts and chat room. You guys are all great! 😀

I find some other podcasts focus on the negative, which is of discouraging. I still listen to them though, because I’m addicted to Once 🙂 There are a few that I really like, and others have started to grow on me. But this is still definitely my favorite

I can’t get stand to listen to any of them what would be nice is a transcript after or during so you can follow without having to actually listen to them

I listen to all the other pod-casts and enjoy MOST of them. They each provide insights about different aspects of the show and I really enjoy the diversity.

What I do not like….

Off topic conversations … I want to hear about ONCE not about everything else… I fast forward through it.

Over talking one speaker over the other; they each try to make a point and drown out the other speaker.

Non Stop giggling at their own jokes so you can not hear the conversation from other speakers on the podcast

Out right ploys to get us to use links to amazon, commercials for other products. I understand the need for commercial put some take it WAY OVER THE TOP.

I have listened to all the current pod cast on EVIL QUEEN today while cleaning the house. I like the thoughtful conversations and different viewpoints. I just ignore the other stuff

Sort of along these lines, it frustrates me if I hear a discussion on any podcast that’s about an issue I’ve already read a discussion about on this forum. This place is good for getting quick clarification on certain questions that are raised, because it’s an active group where varying viewpoints are discussed immediately after an ep airs, (and in the case of the spoiler section, weeks before an ep airs), so stuff gets addressed, discussed, and answered quickly. If I then go and listen to a podcast where they’re asking those questions that I’ve already seen answered, it frustrates me. Basically this forum has spoiled and ruined me. 😆

But I enjoy getting all the different viewpoints and perspectives, so I do listen to several other podcasts. There are a couple that I really enjoy the friendly, chatty vibe of, and others that I keep in reserve for when I need some sort of Once hit because I’m in withdrawal when it’s almost been a week, (or longer) between fixes.

This podcast is the only one I consider to be part of my official Once watching ritual though. I need to hear the Initial Reactions ASAP after I’ve downloaded and watched each ep.

Aside from the Official ABC podcast for Once and this very podcast, I don’t listen to other Once podcasts. I do listen to podcasts for other shows, and for the most part they are pretty good.

I also listen to every OUAT-focused podcast out there, but I think that ONCE podcast is the best.

Thank you for the support, everyone! We work hard to make ONCE podcast the best it can be, and there are certain, super-secret guidelines we follow. (We even have a secret handshake, but we don’t do it often because it always comes with a price.)

This conversation is also slightly ironic. Slurpeez108 and I work hard to pick the best feedback for the podcast—stuff that’s plausible and well-presented (and I know the appropriate use of “theory”). But remember how negative I was to Baelfire’s either being Peter Pan or even simply going to Neverland? Or how much I said that “Her” and “Tamara” were both probably nobodies? Yeah, I was definitely wrong there, and that’s why I felt I had to make up for it with my own torture. 😳
