Apple Red as Blood thoughts on title

The wording “apple red as blood” probably has layered meanings. On the one hand, the obvious meaning is that “apple red” refers to the poisoned apple that Regina gives to Snow White. That could be the same apple that Regina had Hansel and Gretel retrieve from the blind witch. The second meaning is that “red as blood” could refer not only to the color of Snow White’s lips, but also to the blood which could be shed. The promo for the rest of season 1 makes it appear as if Regina threatens to have Prince Charming killed if Snow White doesn't comply and eat the apple. Regina appears to visit Prince Charming in prison, perhaps the same prison where King George is holding the prince captive (after episode 16).

I think it would be cool if it ended with Snow in her coma on the ground, having just bitten the apple. Maybe they could clip back and forth between it and whatever dramatic cliffhanger I’m expecting they’ll have in SB. It could be quite artistic. They could set it up so you know Charming’s coming, or leave that for next season, but I think the Snow/Charming backstory will wrap up this season. I really like everyone’s idea of it ending with the opening scene from the Pilot, too.

They can’t wrap up Snow and Charming’s story unless they kill one of them which i don’t want them to do. Emma is never going to stop be the main character of the show as the savior so i don’t know how they ever drop her parents out of the show without killing them.

SW and cohorts have to break PC out of prison at some point. Where do you think this happens? This episode?

Maybe we find out the origin of the apple tree in this episode, and find it is not just an average tree.

In episode 2, we heard Regina say to Emma that her apples are honeycrisp apples. Usually, those apples have a yellowish appearance, yet Regina’s apples look red. I wonder if her apples started out yellow but then took on a reddish hue when she added “blood” to them. Perhaps that is how she poisoned the apples in the first place to make SW fall under a sleeping spell.

I think they are going to break Charming out of prison in Ep 21.

I am 100% certain that the apple she gives SW is the apple Hansel and Gretal retrieve from the blind witch because the EQ says to Gretal, ” This is not just an apple, it is a weapon.”

I also agree with hjbu that we will see SW attempt to free Charming from prison. That story was left hanging at 1×16 (I think).

I don’t know if they will use the excuse
“She poisoned an apple because she thought I was prettier than her,” like they used in the pilot or if it will be for another reason.

It’s gonna be interesting if it’s getting played like I think: Henry getting poisoned against Snow getting poisoned. Is Henry in the sword promo? If not I guess we have a clue as to what will make Emma go “off with her head”

If you are going to write spoilers outside of the spoiler thread then you are supposed to use the spoiler tags. Henry is in the scene where Emma swings the sword at Regina tied to the apple tree in the middle of town, but that might all be a dream.
