She needs a fork! I laid claim to her dinglehoper if it shows up already in the keeper thread lol Jesse let me have it 🙂 if she is in mermaid form I could easily see her with a Sebastian like crab and a flounder like fish. Scuttle too!

As for Ariel–I hope they realize how popular a character she is, and how many fans want her to be more than a passing guest star with just a very short arc. We can kind of guess that they had space in the story for larger plots with various characters who had actors who chose to do other projects.

😆
Like Kat said, talking animals would be tricky for them to pull off. It would just look straight up comical.
I’d briefly entertained the possibility of Bae being her Scuttle, someone she spoke to about things from the human world. But it seems he’s probably gonna be locked up somewhere, and not getting out and about to socialise much, so scratch that idea.

Surely, they must. I wonder how much input K&H have over DVD extras? For season 1, they had this featurette…
Once Upon A Time Origins (HD). Actor Josh Dallas hosts a look at the, well, origins behind the classic stories found in the show. Included are Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Little Red Riding Hood, The Little Mermaid, and Rumpelstiltskin.
…and I remember thinking at the time, “Little Mermaid, say what?!” because it was the only story included that wasn’t already part of the show. It was either some ABC goon who had no idea who was putting that together, or it’s something that K&H approved. I’d like to think it was the latter, just because it means they’ve seen value in including the character right from the beginning.May 31, 2013 at 8:46 pm #196778HappyEndingsSpectatorQuestion: Is this true:
Well in the original books Ariel died and the disney version she lived and married the prince
😕

Yes. The original Ariel story is VERY dark. She dies in the end and the Prince marries someone else.

Given how dark NL is already being portrayed, if Ariel shows up there, it will probably be a combo of the two. I doubt they’ll outright kill her, but her happy ending–like everyone’s happy endings–will not be easy to come by.

You can read the original online for free–Hans Christian Anderson’s little mermaidl It has the coda version where the mermaid becomes an air spirit bound to do service for 300 years –I have seen a critic call it emotional blackmail to get kids to behave.
